New to caravanning
I realise a lot of people are new to caravanning and I'm pleased to see people finding the pleasured that we ( my Family) have enjoyed for years. However I would like to see an article in the club magazine that emphasises the need for TOTAL separation of the use of foul water and drinking water including hand washing before touching the drinking water tap, this year I have been horrified to witness missuse in the manner I will quote below.
The first dealt with charging their toilet and filling their water butt in the wrong order without washing their hands before going to the drinking water tap. Its easily done in ignorance of the consequences.
The second also,I believe the person was unaware of his actions. A nice big new motor caravan, the occupant removed the cassette and walked to the elsan point and emptied it ,he then returned to his van and removed two plastic bottles (one of which was like the supermarkets use when they sell drinking water)from his locker. From one he emptied a charge of fluid into the cassette, then he took the other bottle to the drinking water tap and first fill into the empty charge, then he went back to the tap again to refill and pour into the flush water opening.
I'm sure these people would not act in this manner if they realised that sickness can quickly start on a campsite by contamination by excrement

It happens in all theatres of life, Birdseye. Do you use handrails in public places? Mmm, wonder what's lurking on them?
Did you point out the error of their ways to the people on site? That might have helped them stay fit and healthy.

Yes agree,
do you (or does one ) wash one's hands after handling all that money? Or just hope the person before you did? people seem to survive paying cash then eating their McD?

There is a train of thought that goes along the lines of, if you keep getting exposed to germs and similar hazards you will build and maintain a good resistance to them.
