Longleat Safari Park
This might sound a stupid question!
I would like to go over to Longleat for a weekend soon in the MH.
Has anyone ever gone round the Safari Park in their MH. Is it allowed?
Thanks guys

It's some years since we've stayed there, arty, but I'm pretty sure I remember MHs going round the park. But just be aware that dogs aren't allowed anywhere on the estate now. Best to check if they're allowed inside your MH en route. Others may know.

I'd also check out what the residents do to anything that sticks out on MH such as aerials, sat dishes, wipers, etc.....

From watching what happens to some people's cars when going through the monkey enclosure, I would certainly advise against it! There are far too many things on the exterior of a Motor Home that they would enjoy twisting, pulling, biting and scratching! The roof lights would be very vulnerable, and I suspect that you might gain some very destructive passengers!
In stead I would heartily recommend that you book yourself and family on one of their excellent safari bus's, that way you can enjoy it all, in complete safety AND keep your motorhome in one piece!

Hi we were there in July and motorhomes are fine to go around the safari park. You can opt out of the monkey enclosure but you still get to see them from a distance but you keep your vehicle safe. We had a lovely time and the discount you get for park admission from being a club member was great too but you need to order tickets the day before you visit. Enjoy !

When we went with the Grandson's they had a double decker you could pay for to go around the safari park. Boy's loved seeing the monkey's strip nearly every car in there even a German tour coach got some attention.

When we went we bought a 5 day pass, very good value. £100 for two seniors now, only £75 three years ago. We went round on the bus, which was great, as you traveled through the monkey enclosure with no risk. However, it did not stop long at the areas where you can get out, so we went back on another day with the car. Must admit, I was a bit nervous near the Rhinos. Although they have tractors with sleepers on the front, that they could put in the way if they became frisky, I was comforted that we could take off in any direction in the 4x4. Perhaps not so easy in a MH.
I think if we ever get one I will stick to the safari bus.
You can't pre book the bus the day before, but if you are staying at the site you can get in first thing before anyone arrives and have your pick of times.

Take the bus, it is not worth the risk.
I suggest you go for Spookfest if it is still being put on for Halloween. There is also a stunning firework display at the weekend.
At least it was 2 years ago, should be similar now.
Bye the way, check the arrival time. We turned up at 12.15 surprised to find it was a 1.00 arrival time. Sent around the block until the correct time. Should not have assumed all sites were 12.00.

Maybe it is the block caused by outfits queueing to get in that was being refered to.
