we did the Rockies a couple of years ago. fantastic. we were not camping/vanning but hired a jeep and had all hotels booked before arriving. landing  at Vancouver and 18 days later flying back from Calgary. watch out for the wildlife. have a great trip, you will want to go back.

You're bound to have a great time, eden, it's a beautiful area. If you're visiting Banff be sure to take the cable car to the top of Sulphur Mountain for breath taking views. And if you're heading for Lake Louise take the detour to Lake Moraine which is even more beautiful, surrounded by mountains but without the huge hotel complex to detract from the view!

If you go at this time of the year, you'll see the colours of the fall and might enjoy a piece of pumpkin pie on Canadian Thanksgiving Day. This year it's Oct 8th. smile

We returned from the Rockies and cruise to Alaska a few weeks ago. Wonderful but the ice fields route from Banff to Jasper remains a mystery to us as we experienced a snow whiteout and followed a snow plough all the way. Lake Louise to lake Agnes walk completed in shorts and t shirts. An extensive  wardrobe required.

oh lucky you, Canada is on our wishlist, we did 6 weeks in New Zealand (both islands) booking car hire and all motels in advance and all excursions when we got to destinations. Your sure to enjoy the trip.
