How juvenile to take offence at that, it's a primary school reaction. I can certainly do better than that when I'm name calling.
I think a 'meet' would be an excellent idea, Gunfight at the OK corral springs to mind.

It's very strange , there's a very similar thread to this on the C&CC forum running at the moment , coincidence probably ........who knows .
People never cease to amaze me , dogs 🐕 are more understanding & don't complain .......because they can't use a keyboard I guess 👍

At a couple of C&CC sites I’ve stayed at earlier this year, there have been notices placed by the wardens in the toilet blocks stating that complaints have been made about dogs being allowed to toilet within the vicinity of the pitch areas and that if caught by a warden, the guilty owners will be ejected off the site.

But not acceptable to everyone and unlikely to be allowed in the workplace or normal activities these days. You mentioned Kindergarten in one of your earlier posts, and thats where this behaviour should have been discarded.

Responsible dog owning members of both clubs provided they respect club rules regarding dogs should have nothing to fear .
Unfortunately it's a small minority that ignores the basic rules expected on sites , gives everyone a bad name .
It totally infuriating to see others not cleaning up after their pets , non dog owners aren't the only ones it effects . believe me 👍

Not just pooing DaveFL2, campers in tents had complained to wardens at Derwentwater when I was there in June, about dogs urinating around tents. Unbelievable really, that dog owners exist who think this is acceptable

Hey BB, no offence taken at all.
On stays in my van, when not out and about I do seem to have developed a state of actual sleep, dozing, or being woken up to eat and drink. I am quite liking it. Mr C seems to enjoy it too.

Not a gripe but an observation. I have not had a dog for over 20 years. When I did they walked at heel on site and were on a 3 foot lead (admittedly just pushed through a belt loop). Many seem these days to be on extending leads roaming around rather than under strict control on site.

It isn't just on sites that dog owners allow barking - I am afraid it's everywhere. I was sitting in a park eating my lunch quietly with my two dogs an the peace was disturbed several times by dogs barking at us. One was a youngish Beddlington and the owner was trying rather ineffectively to stop it - and eventually brought it closer to introduce it to mine. I ventured to warn her that it would be good to stop it barking asap or she would struggle for life. I have one I can't stop barking when people arrive at the house but it doesn't go on for long and I am a bit half hearted about stopping her as I live in quite a remote spot. How to distinguish friend from foe?! Perish the thought that she barks on site though!

I've met up with a few, and guess what? It was a shared interest in dogs that made the meet ups so nice!

interesting....ive met a few CTers and not one was a dog owner....
coincidence? dont know, just like minded (foreign parts) vanners...
however, they may be a link in that travelling further afield with dogs is a bit more 'formal' and (can be) a bit more costly....

I'm not at all disagreeing with " the rules ", I only yesterday started to drive off the wrong way round the site, had I carried on that could have ( although inadvertently ) been reported as breaking the rules. These people under discussion knowingly do this with no thought or concern of others.

Wouldn't know about that BB, never taken our tourers overseas as you know. I have no idea of what the "formals" are, nor the costs to be honest. In truth, unlikely ever to find out, because I am not bothered about taking the dogs overseas. Ferries don't seem that pet friendly on the whole, and the kind of places I want to go will be just too hot for them, and I wouldn't enjoy my holiday if they weren't comfortable. Their welfare in a hot period over here has to be carefully managed, so I wouldn't knowingly cause them distress if I could help it. That's not a criticism of others by the way, just a personal decision.
I shall probably suffer a dog free interlude, then do my bucket list. It won't include a motorhome or caravan either. Just awaiting the lump sum, a while to go yet.....

Iberia is a huge area, I cannot quote the temperatures, but the dogs that live there will be acclimatised, and possibly not confined to a small space such as a tourer? I know ours hate hot weather, and we are always careful to lug water with us wherever we go. Our breed are from colder climes, so suffer more than the dog we had as a child, a Basenji, who originate in Africa. He shivered in the Winter!
Its not just the personal welfare preferences for us, my bucket list is way beyond Europe, so impractical to take a dog. Purely personal as I say.

I have also noticed that it is no longer sufficient to have just one dog, but 2, 3, 4 or more! Why?
I think it's the opposite, and more a question of people having caravans or M/Hs by default because they can't find or afford other accommodation that will accept them and kennels are too expensive.

Not in this household Spriddler. We have no problem holidaying in cottages, hotels and B&Bs with our dogs. Have taken three away with us in cottages, Cornwall, Scotland, North York Moors on a regular basis, done overnight stops in B&Bs and hotels travelling solo down to van left elsewhere. We keep to all the rules, the dogs are clean and supervised strictly, and we keep getting requests to visit again, so it just goes to show, good owners are good business!

MollysMummy. Please excuse me for being slightly off topic but If I am correct, we were pitched next to you at Keepers Cottage (near Blackpool) in July. In my opinion, your dog was well controlled and caused my wife and I no problems. Basically I am just saying hello.

We were complimented on Molly's behaviour at Moreton in Marsh around then though. A fellow camper came to us a few days after we'd arrived to say how good she was. A pleasant change from the dog that had been on the same pitch a few days before hand.(There are many many Mollys around
