bit disappointed with the club just been informed no part seasonal pitches ( Nov - Dec ) available next year at Hawes due to " lateness of site opening (July 2017) and the anticipated demand for pitches from touring members.

Went on to book for May when the site will be without a toilet block and see no reduction in the price £20 a night for 2 people again disappointed would have thought the lack of facilities would be reflected in the pricing until the site Is fully open with facilities

Totally agree. Seems very mean of the CC. Why couldn't they charge the £15 pn as they do for many other non-facility sites,

Another site to ignore in 2017.Some very good commercials in Hawes and Swaldale  however. We had reduced number of CC nights considerably in 2016- seems it will be even more in 2017.

Well the glorious caravan and motorhome club (since 2017) have once again ignored their members requests for a proper winter seasonal pitch for Hawes.

In addition, they have their ignored the requests of the businesses in Hawes who have depended on the influx of caravaners AND the stability  of the revenue generated by the 10 Season Pitch 'vans.

You'd think given the uproar from those who've pitched their van their from Oct to late Dec and the fact even the local parish council called the Caravan Club 'DECEITFUL" in the minutes of the meeting last year, they'd look to make amends.

    But no.  Well cheers.

Were the 10 new service pitches created out of the previous seasonal pitches? The site information on here still shows it has seasonal pitches but perhaps someone forgot to update the information.

The Seasonal Pitches weren't service pitches, they were just dotted around the site.

The Seasonal Pitches they are offering are neither use nor ornament; They require you pitch your 'van mid week and do the same for removal.

Sadly I work, so these render the already significantly reduced duration of the Seasonal Pitch to be utterly worthless and unworkable.

A shame really as the club has disenfranchised 10 members and thrown away £5,000 in revenue thats always paid a year in advance.  For the second year in a row...

I've started a new Seasonal Pitch thread to see if this has happened elsewhere in the country.

Sorry, from your original post I got the impression they had taken away the seasonal pitches but clearly they are still available albeit with rules that require people to set the pitch up on non weekend days and the same for removal. I have never had a seasonal pitch so don't know what is involved but at a guess it might take up a bit more time from the wardens? If that is the case it would seem to make sense as the weekends will be the busiest time for site staff. Is it out of the question for you to take a days holiday to site and remove?

It makes no sense to me David. Pitch paid for and user can come and go as they please. Can't see any real problem other than they want to keep first weekend for other bookings.

"It might take up more time from wardens" It takes up no more of the Wardens time. I'm intrigued as to what gives you the impression it does or why a seasonal pitcher wouldn't be entitled to that time?

"is it out of the question for you to take a days holiday to site and remove". It is out of the question for my to take time off to accommodate the revised, reduced seasonal pitch duration, which would amount to 2 days away from work.

"clearly they are still available" Well actually they're not available this year.  We've been given no genuine reason from the club why they aren't.

As you state David, you've never had a seasonal pitch.  I've taken one for the past four years and I've taken one (elsewhere) again this year.  I do however appreciate the time you've taken to reply to my post.  You've done more than the club I pay to be a part of.

As per my post on Seasonal Pitches 2018 we are sorry that this has caused you concern. I have spoken to the Regional Manager who has advised that this year at Hawes the Club took out the part seasonal pitches as the site has only just re-opened and we didn’t want to limit the availability for members to get onto the site, especially over Christmas and New Year. This is just until we can monitor what the demand will be and we will then review the decision for the following year.

Between April and June this year the price was reduced as the site was without facilities. 2 adults and a pitch paid an average of 21% less than if they were on a standard pitch with full facilities.

I hope this clears up any confusion. As we have another discussion about the seasonal pitches at Hawes I will now close this one to avoid duplicates but thank you for your feedback and please be assured this has been forwarded to the sites operations team for their reference.
