Unaccepable behaviour
Rowena has closed yet another thread on the forum, which I assume from the last few posts was due to the content.
We know it is difficult for the wardens to enforce all doggy rules as they have other duties and from the rather unpleasant tone of some of the posts, we can see why folk are reluctant to approach owners who are less that responsible.
However, all opinions expressed on this forum should be permitted without others resorting to rudeness, insults threats or bullying.
We are supposed to be able to enjoy our chosen method of holidaying without others spoiling our well earned leisure activity.
In light of some of the comments made Rowena, I would ask that anyone posting in an aggressive or threatening manner be removed from the Forum immediately.
I note there are a few names missing from the rosta these days, but perhaps there could be a few more that should join them.

There are certain topics that will always be controversial thus causing this type of behaviour and this was one such post. The topic has lots of historical posts, in other words it has been done to death. Do we need to go down the same route again in a few weeks. I hope not.
Please refer any such topics to the Admin and get them stopped before they start, so to speak

Harry perhaps you missed my point.
Yes doggy posts are done to death, but my post relates to the behaviour of posters, not dog owners. The same behaviour is evident on many topics when someone has a differing opinion.
Topics may be controversial, but if we are not permitted to discuss for fear of bullying types, we may as well close the forum altogether.

BM, I agree(generally) with your OP. It should be a situation where all topics can be discussed but it doesn't work like that both you & I know it. It(subject matter) is often used as a weapon to target/attack fellow posters. Politics & Religion on CT being banned was a smart move, I'm not a fan of control but I'm afraid some need to be protected from themselves. The reputation of the CC can & is being besmirched daily.

A post you made in that thread directed at Molly’s Mummy wasn’t exactly good natured, making personal pointed comment questioning observation skills and opinion. Weds @ 20:33
Whilst well behaved debate within forums is the perfect goal, there will be times when heated emotions take over. However, I can only see the point of you starting this thread as means to stir up trouble again, asking the staff moderator to single out members for punishment. I would imagine Rowena is perfectly capable of dealing with this in her own way without your guidance.
She closed that thread, I for one calmed down (a 10 mile run helped) and on return went back to posting better thought out sensible comment.

All members have a right to have an opinion on any subject , any posts / posters that do not respect that right , or indicate that they appear to have some hidden agenda for whatever purpose or reason should be jumped upon immediately.
These type of posts should be removed immediately & the poster dealt with severely .

Perhaps one could view your thread as deliberately looking for altercation, I think there is enough moderators on this forum to keep things in check, if they so decide.
Heated posts are what they are, posted in the heat of the moment and 9 times out of 10 regretted later. Of course there are exceptions but the CM is quite capable without additional help.

There were a couple of posts on a thread that I felt were attacking me (maybe the one that got Deleted User??) but by the time I got around to posting a succinct, and humorous, ripost I could not find the thread again in the morass. Time better spent fitting Anderson connectors!

I don't think I missed your point BM. I just think that the bullying in a post should be stopped before it gets out of hand as in the post in question and maybe this one if we are not careful. There are certain topics which will breed bullying within that post within a short space of time. Once I note that starting I then have no further interest in the post. How many more may be like me.
I think certain names will be known to HQ and those names should be monitored and then controlled. As you so strongly say " be removed from the Forum immediately". For the future of the forum, I agree

As Nigel posted above, he felt much better after a 10 mile run and was then able to post again.
This might not be the case for the person who was the subject of post in some cases.
I do not believe that this issue is being delt with and in reality it should not need to be.
Comments made in the heat of the moment should not be an acceptable excuse here, we should self edit and hold back if we feel the need to post aggressively.
In response to Nigels comment about my comment to Molly's Mummy. It was not aggresive, rude or threatening, If you have followed several threads commented on by MM you would see that not having seen many things does not prevent strong comments that contradict those that have seen such incidents, which was the point of my post.

Sorry Harry, I read the post as stopping the post. I note that several posts have comments removed, but the poster is still permitted to continue posting. Not having seen the contents, I can only assume they were worse than some posts that have remained active, which could be considered out of order.

I wonder, in the light of the subject of this discussion, that the time allowed to make edits to one's posts might be extended. Or even the restriction removed completely.
On another (much larger) forum that I follow there are a few "hot head" posters who frequently remove or alter contentious posts after a few hour's reflection.

Forums are forums, people are people. If you want a kindergarten experience then you may choose to join one. The reason all forums have moderators is because it is factual that we all have different personalities, all have differing levels before steam comes out of the ears, it is a fact of life and is controlled by management very well thank you.
Also I believe it is rude and confrontational to talk between yourselves on a thread about another members 'behaviour', and those posts on this thread should be Deleted User.
