My hands have been feeling the effects of yesterdays driving, so I've been having a rest today. In the meantime, my wife decided it was time to tackle the cleaning of the caravan roof, as the rain had stopped. The ladder was accordingly assembled and the cleaning of the roof done by her.

After that, we had a cup of tea in the awning. Now, I'm sitting in the awning in the relaxer wading through yesterdays and todays newspapers trying to find articles of interest to read. I've finally got through all the weekend papers including the magazines. So there's just some of todays left to read.

No need to go shopping today as there's plenty left over from the last shop. So no need to do any driving today.

The sun is trying to come out as I type so it looks like we might be able to enjoy a brighter evening. It's feeling warmer too!

The weather was good while we were there so I got out a cycle a couple of times we also visited Berwick on Saturday and then yestersay went a walk around Seahouses and had a lovely fish tea. Now back home and planning our next trip

Going to try and plan a short break at Hillhead, Francis, not sure if there is an extended half term so will try and go after that. It's so busy in the SW just now, I'm wondering when it will quieten down.

We had salmon with mashed potatoes, mange toute and carrots for our evening meal after which I fell asleep for a while. I've just woken up and it's dark outside. Tea is brewing as I type this.

Yes, both you and tda got it right. Hope that the weather picked up for your visit to Buxton.

We moved on down today to an award winning CL. Misty start but clearing as we left. Easy drive up over Presili Mountain pass. Sun came out and the temperature jumped up to 18C. Forecast is for another good day tomorrow, so it looks like a drive out to the coast.

We just watched the 9p.m. programme on BBC2 called The Human Body: Secrets of your life revealed with its conclusion of immortality being achievable. Can you believe it?

Anyhow, for me it's the end of another day but I'm having another cup of tea before going to bed!

Weather turned out warm and pleasant after 10am. Today is looking good as well. Trying to decide what to do today. Move on down the road to Capesthorne Hall tommorow. I new that last dragon and Newcastle Emlyn were connected but must look up the story as I don't know it.

Hope you enjoyed in Ceredigion and that your stay in Pembrokeshire is just as good. Of the two I prefer Ceredigion, no so touristy.

Today decided to have a stroll on Monsal Trail for a couple of hours. Can't manage the distances we did when last on it. Will likely pop down into Bakewell afterwards.

It was already daylight by the time I got up this morning. It seems today is the first day this Autumn when the nights will actually be a few minutes longer than the days.

I spent most of the morning reading the papers which I collected from reception at 09:15.

We plan to go shopping some time this afternoon as my wife says she needs a new pair of wellies. That will mean more points for my Tesco Clubcard. My points balance has been going up much faster because of getting double points on my Tesco debit card spend compared to just one extra point per £4 spend on the credit card. There's no need to do a food shop this evening as we still have plenty to use from our last shop.

No plans to go anywhere else as my wife says she needs to get the laundry done whilst the weather is still dry and there's some sunshine this afternoon too.

We did enjoy. Weather was kind. Probably walked two miles up from Hassop Station and two miles back. Had to stand and rest my hip about every quarter of a mile going uphill but only every half mile coming back smile

Drove the mile and a half into Bakewell and had had soup and a roll and then a stroll around looking in charity shops and bookshops for authors on Fliss' reading list.

Took some rubbish to the bins here on site 30 mins ago and my hips were complaining to me!

Hope that the move down to Capersthorne Hall goes well. We've visited the house a while ago but never stopped on the site....way above our price bracket. wink

There has been a rebirth of the Dragon in 2007 down below the Castle, and now a festival is held to celebrate it.

Thanks, cariadon. We found enough to do for a week around Cardigan Bay but doubt that we'll be returning for a while. I think that there'll be more for us to see here in Pembroke. At this time of the year there are not too many tourists about, although the CL we're on is full.

Great to hear Appache. Hope that you manage to extend your time at York. If you can't and still want to stay in the area, and can manage on a site without toilet facilities, but has H/S and is close to a bus stop into town, try Cherrytree Cottage Caravan site. Here's the link.
