Have the site surveys we were asked to complete earlier in the year finished? I know there was a report in the the magazine about the results but I can't recall whether they said they would continue.

II don't mind filling them in but I am currently on my third Club site in the last couple of weeks (extended tour) and we left the first site 6  days ago but I have not received any request to fill in a survey. The last two sites were in Wales but I can't think that would make any difference. In the past I have had the survey e-mail within a day or two.

We were on Clumber park 14 days ago and stayed until 9 days ago. I had a survey request for that

Still getting them but in no particular order. Deleted User one and got a reminder! More useful than glossy/grumpy reviews perhaps?

The questions seem more specific and could lead to a better understanding of how each site operates ,rather than the usual "the toilet block is good", and could lead to the correct changes if needed

I do not fill them in as it seems they just ask the usual "holiday" questions that is received by most, after any type of holiday that companies "marketing depts"pay large sums of money to these outsourced companies for nil conceivable returnundecided

So how is the club supposed to know what they are doing right or wrong if members don't answer a few simple questions?????

Quite so HD, exactly as I viewed them. It does seem that the responses are changing things as per the recent magazine article. The site we are currently on has changed to toilet cleaning times to the afternoon and judging by the comments in the Site Comments Book this has been welcomed. It is entirely up to individuals whether they make use of the surveys but unless there is nothing on the site you have an opinion on there must be something you can contribute. Even things like the quality of WiFi can be highlighted if that proved to be a problem during your stay. Likewise what an opportunity for us motorhomers to keep the pressure on the Club to accelerate the installation of open grill grey water disposal points? Or equally say how good they are when they have been converted.

Simple is correct, but not enough to entice myself to waste time on something that will probably be trawled out whenever a conference/meeting takes place to prove how great things are?

I must confess I have only completed one. The reason being I mistakenly thought they were a request to leave a site review which I already had done so just Deleted User them wink

It depends if the questions are presented in a way that only the "Correct" answers are possible.

The survey is laid out with 0 to 10 scores ,with space to type in your views on that subject , also some are "yes"/"no" answers

I don't get it ,some members moan about the way the CMC does things ,and when you are given the chance to put your opinion over they still moan

P.S ,this is not directed at you K

I found some of the questions inappropriate. Asking for a score on the friendliness etc of the warden who booked us in is one thing but to then ask the same question for every warden employed on site is a bit daft. How would I know if I'd met them all?

Some parts are relevant and some just a pointless waste of time.

I suppose because it's an generic survey then it cant be tailored to our individual needs

we don't use the toilet block or have kids ,so we cant comment on this items , so it's difficult to give a good overall rating

The survey has checks and balances so it checks whether you've only met one warden, all of them or non at all etc. It's fairly well balanced and I hope it helps gives the club a good overview. I was glad to do one recently as I got a less than helpful welcome at a particular site, I didn't do a review but stated the poor experience in the survey because I could go into detail a bit more. Doesn't often happen, thankfully.

It is very clear from what you say that you have never looked that closely at one of the surveys, if at all? It seems to me that the Club are trying their best to drill down into what members feel about the individual campsite be that how the staff interacted with the members in terms of customer service or what could be done to improve either the facilities of that site or changes that you as a member would like to see. I take TW's point that there seems to be a bit of duplication regarding staff interaction but at the end of the day if the Club don't drill down into these aspects of the member experience how will anything ever change?

I think the surveys have already been used to improve things like overzealous early morning lawn cutting etc. If people don't fill them in things that generally could be improved won't be. You can put your own comments on the surveys, good or bad and it looks as though this is proving useful.
