Hi all ,

Just wondering if you could let me know opinion/advice as I am looking to purchase a hobby caravan and understand there is a lot of stigma attached to these vans?

Also if anyone has any negatives please , if any ?

Thanks in advance

Rebecca

It might be wise to see if you can insure it at a price you feel comfortable to pay. Also an issue like whether it is/was a private import could well affect the premium.

Been covered many times, here and elsewhere. There are no "issues" with Hobby especially. I have a 460uFE and insure it thro' CMC, and use CMC & CCC sites.

There may be issues with twin axle wide bodies, as these were technically illegal in UK until recently I believe. Towing them is the real problem! I see lots on permanent sites, as they last well and are better insulated.

The traveller associations are spurious, and no site has ever mentioned any concerns to me. Hobby are very good quality, and along with other Euro makes are popular throughout the EU. They don't do LH side doors, but this isn't a real problem.

We are also interested in one. The gypsies use them to live in and I reason that is probably the best recommendation ever. Make sure yours  is well secured. Please give us your feedback.

Ditto Mfield. Really interested to know what your buying experience was like and in future how you find the design and reliability. Only unfortunate thing for me is the lack of dealers in the south west.

From what I've read on caravan owners as I see it if it's not what they have you'll just get negative response my advice is buy what suit's yourself and your needs
