Haven't been to a clubsite in a while.

Book sensibly says no arrivals before 12:00 mainly because of single track approach road. New arrivals started coming in at 10:00 presumably to bag prime pitches recently vacated.

But they needn't have bothered as "Pitch migration" from some already on site had secured prime pitches. Awnings down and all.

Certain grass pitches away from the road were indicated "not for motorhomes" on site map as they may get bogged....guess what.

Awning carpets leaving pitches virtually unusable upon departure.

Dogs accompanying their owners to the drinking water tap with the inevitable!

I can only assume that what were once rules that we were reminded of when we transgressed (and yes I did arrive 10 mins early in the past, not done it again) are now more like"guidelines" . This more relaxed attitude will lead to problems as more members take advantage.

Is this Club policy? I wonder.

It is, of course, difficult to judge arrival time when travelling 100 miles or so, knowing there may be extensive roadworks and delays en route.

I too arrived 10 mins early last week, merely parked in arrivals slot, went for a walk around the site, so when office opened I even knew what pitch we wanted (if available.)

If someone arrives at 10o'c then surely it would be down to the warden to either book them in then, to save a queue building at lunchtime or to insist that they wait until the appropriate hour.

That should not be a problem to those already on site.

arrival 10mins early is of little consequence having done it once I now find a layby and wait.

OK so you leave your pitch at 10am and head off down the single track road only to meet an early bird arrival. Nothing to do with the warden. Now there will be an interesting discussion on who will reverse 75m to the nearest passing place. Rules have evolved and are there for a reason. a to allow the warden time to cut grass between departure and arrival b. to avoid site congestion and c. on some sites with difficult approach roads to avoid the above.

At reception the motorhome owner is given a map by the warden and told that the marked pitches are not for motorhomes as the can easily get bogged and these pitches are prone to this. Ignored, the consequence is the wardens time, a damaged pitch and maybe cost of repair or a closed pitch.

Dogs at the water tap, I have a dog so high tolerance but this is just inconsiderate.

I am not passing judgement it has already been done by those who have set the rules and judged them to be reasonable.

Ok so none of the above impacted me directly so lets just put aside my observations on inconsiderate behaviour and maybe all bend the rules a little wink

I seem to be missing the point of your post, Andy. Each issue has been done to death on this forum and nothing has changed.

Are you saying you have a problem with members? If so take it up with the warden on site. Maybe you're saying you have a problem with wardens. If so, take it up with the club. There again, perhaps you just like to have a good moan to stir up a debate.

I'm sorry to hear you had such a miserable time on site watching all the transgressors. frown

Must agree with your comments, just left a club site and it seems the dog walk is too far for some (probably not the dogs) which the grass outside the pitch I was on became the toilet block, lazy inconsiderate people even club signs saying do not throw your black doggy bags over the neibours fence.😡

I don't get the walking the dog near the water points. In fact the last site I went to 2 weeks ago has the Dog washing area next to the motorhome water and waste points so you can use that water? so the club must be OK with itsmile
