Thanks MR. Not yet, its still with ACS in Watton. I'm still waiting for an estimate. I knew it would take a while as they said they hadn't had my model through the repair shop so would have to identify the problem then go back to Canon for prices.
Will probably make it into a story and post in the that section

The CM has ask in a nice way to keep this thread on track, as the title suggests, and at the very least we should all consider that before posting that challenges her decisions.
After all there is so much more to life than that of Adrian Mole age 13 and three quarters!

I think Oneputt, she wants us to be nice to each other and is concerned that this is not happening because someone keeps hitting the report button. Perhaps it's best, whoever it is, not to report inoffensive comments that meant well.

Thanks Millie, don't believe it although some of the country file calendar choices could be termed controversial although the standard of photography is excellent. Usually buy a couple as gifts for others but my calendar is purely a family affair. Need to get ready to go so pop in later.

What am I doing today? Well reading through the last days posts, I was thinking that a little more tolerance would be nice. After all if something is not of interest, you can just scroll on down.
However, yesterday we righted an omission. We have lived in this area for the last 43 years and never once visited Bolsover Castle. Ok it is over the border in Derbyshire, but it is only 13 miles away. We have been members of English Heritage, who look after it, for the last 3 years, so really had no excuse.
It was built in the 1600's by the Cavendish family, on the site of an earlier fortification. William, who supervised the building of much of it was the father of modern dressage. They still put on demonstrations in the old riding hall to this day. We must book and go and watch one next year.
A very fascinating visit with great views in the clear conditions. The picture is looking at the Pennines in the direction of Chatsworth. The town in the far distance is Chesterfield.
Well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. It is only 4 miles from Poolsbrook country park and 15 miles from Clumber Park.

I was a bit disappointed with their choices for the 2018 OP as they left out some of my favourites. However, I shall still buy a few for presents and for myself.

And today? The last part (I think) of our parlour upgrade has arrived - a new feed bin that connects to the auto feed system. The old one (2002) was deemed to be too old. Lots of mutterings on the lines of "buy cheap, buy twice". Though I don't remember it being particularly cheap.
The photo is of the old one, just so that you know what I'm talking about.

Arrived at Ramslade just after 12.30. Good trip, only a little rain. Last 1.5 miles of the road to the site is narrow with passing places, we met a full size bus, 2 lorries and several vans, so OH was somewhat stressed by the time we got here!
Checking in ahead of us was a MH towing a small car, they had taken a wrong turning and ended up in the recycling depot and had to unhitch the car to get turned.
Good HS pitch near the first toilet block, the other block is apparently closed. Mainly grass pitches near it, warden advised MHers not to use a grass pitch. Several empty serviced pitches, they are expensive here so not surprised.
Wifi is bronze here, but I connected without any problem. However it looks like most folk are out, so it may be a different story later.
Raining now, and the forecast seems to be for more rain tomorrow.

Back home from North Norfolk,c/van in storage car off loaded and in garage,washing machine on(i think that what its called) new member has been out and sniffed out all the news since we have been away ,its colder here than last week away grass to cut and also hedges this time before ,the Cotswolds and the Seven Brdge becons next thursday

Today was a beautiful day. It started off with lovely blue skies and hardly any wind.
We had a lovely walk down along the river Herault to the little village at the estuary. Picked up some bread for lunch and had a walk around the small market, sat for awhile looking out over the sea and noticed the distant mountains (Pyrenees) had snow on them
This afternoon we cycled out to Cape Agde, this area is really nice. Back at the site at 4.30 had a nice ice cream and then an hour at the pool. Now this is more like it

Just for you ET.....it was dry but cloudy so we drove down to Cwntydu, walked the coastal path to Cwm Silio past the hill fort Castell Bach, up the river valley to St Tysilio's Church and back. Sat watching the seal pups on the shore for a while just as the rain came in. Has been raining on and off since then.

Snow in the Pyrenees, Tammygirl? Perhaps you could make a trip up there and try skiing! Is it warm enough for you at Cape Agde? I know how much you like hot weather!

In the afternoon, I tried starting the Shogun. It wouldn't start. So I called Mayday Green Flag. They arrived within an hour and got it started using jump leads as the battery was almost dead. He recommended it needed a new battery. I was told that once before when it wouldn't start but it was only serviced two weeks ago and the Mitsubishi Service said there was nothing wrong with the battery and refused to change it. So I don't know who to believe?
It could be just that the Shogun hasn't been used for over two weeks. Usually, I give it a run about once a week but recently couldn't because of my fractured hand.
Once it got started, we went for a drive along Long Furlong to give the battery some charge. After that, we decided we could give it a bit longer by visiting WWT Arundel. Once there, we went on the boat safari. Whilst on the boat we spotted a Kingfisher for the first time in 2 years! Then we had a walk around and sat for a while in the Sandmartin Hide. We did see a couple of Sandmartins. I think they'll probably be flying south for the winter soon.
When we returned to the car park, the Shogun started without any problem this time. We drove back to our site and back to our pitch. Hopefully, next time we use it, it will start without a problem.

After we got back to the caravan, I checked my points statement on the Tesco Clubcard website. There was a large increase in the points balance, which I was delighted to see because of using my new debit card, which is attracting double points.
At 18:45 we went to Tesco Extra using the Smart Car. At least that starts without any problem, even when it hasn't been used for 3 weeks!
Anyhow, when we had used the Shogun to visit WWT, I was pleased to find that the air-conditioner was working, which it hadn't been before the service.
Anyhow, after shopping at Tesco, I used my debit card at the checkout along with the new contactless points card. I prefer it to the Clubcard Credit card because of the better deal on points. However, it has taken them a week to update the balance to include all the extra points. So my account is now showing that I have already earned £14 in clubcard vouchers for this quarter so far and there's still a month to go!
By the time we finished shopping, a trolley full of groceries for just over £12 because of cut price bargains; it was nearly dark by the time we left the Tesco car park. So it was about 20:30 by the time we had our evening meal.

I think it must have been about 21:30 by the time I got to sleep. I slept about 5 hours before waking up feeling thirsty. So I got up and made a cup of tea. Now I'm catching up with the posts on here whilst drinking my tea.

It seems like you're getting better weather, KjellNN, now that you are heading further east! Devon and Cornwall have their attractions but I have to say, my favourite is Dorset. Places like Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are amazing for scenic beauty!
