Arrived at Burnham Wick Farm 😃. Nice short grass 😆. Clouds breaking ever so slightly and glimpses of blue. It's still there 😂😂. Need the sun to prove the same 😢
Looking forward to watching the wildlife, won't see a water vole from the van but the hares are active 😃.

Today we have been to Truro, which is not far away if we could fly, but much further by road, especially as we avoided all the narrow lanes the sat nav wanted us to use!
Nice little city, we parked on Lemon Quay, bought some sandwiches etc for lunch and sat in front of the city hall in the sun to eat them.
Then we walked over to the cathedral for a look around before wandering round the shops. I made the mistake of letting OH go into the cookshop, so we now have a couple of Christmas presents for the "children".........a new wok for DD and husband as he managed to burn food in her current one, and a set of Swiss knives for son and DIL as they have very few decent kitchen knives.
DD will appreciate the wok, son and DIL are however rather minimalist when it comes to kitchen equipment, so may not be so appreciative!
Buying Christmas, or birthday, gifts is always difficult, even for the grandchildren. These days we generally give them some cash plus a small gift so they have something to open, unless we can get a wish list from them.
Lately, for the "children", OH has started making up a bag of various items which we hope they will find useful ..........things for the house, sweets, a couple of bottles, food things......they seem to like the idea. Last year we put together a cheese collection for our son...more exotic things he probably would not have on the shopping list....and I made a wooden box to hold them all.

No, my parents never had a caravan. I think it wasn't quite as popular in those days as it is today. After all, caravans were very basic in those days so very hard to live in for any length of time. There was no electric hook-up then. That's all changed now. Caravans can have every conceivable creature comfort including air-conditioning which most people don't have in their houses, even though there's a higher price tag to go with it. So a caravan nowadays can be more comfortable than a house!

Surely, KjellNN, if you are visiting a place by car and not towing, narrow lanes shouldn't be a problem, especially if they are going to save you time and distance.

B2, enjoy your stay, I just love it there, great walks, total peace and quiet and super wildlife. Hopefully we will get there in late October. It's a good place to see Corn Buntings.
Water voles were pretty common place when I was a child but today was the first time I managed to photo one. Usually we just hear the plop as they jump in the water.

Most of what people are doing today involves some finance in some way or another. When you tow your caravan to different places or visit places by car, you buy fuel to run the car. So the garage profits from selling you fuel. When you visit tourist attractions, you pay an admission fee that helps the business offering the attraction. It's the way of the world!0 -
Money is important to everyone in some way or another, so surely how you get that money whether it's through savings or some other means and which is the best way to do it, so that you can pay for whatever it is that you are up to now, is worthy of discussion, is it not?
