Caravan V Motorhome

It appears that Motorhomes are still not being considered equal to Caravans by long term CMC members, if this thread is anything to go on.
The CMC has quite correctly adopted an "All Inclusive" company policy which welcomes Motorhomes, a good decision IMO.
There seems, according to this thread, to be many of the Old Guard caravanners who have not fully accepted that people like a proper choice in their touring holidays and that Motorhomes have as much right to use CMC sites as Caravans.........Why not accept that motorhomes are here to stay and live and let live. ?

I can't remember one single post on this thread that said MH were better than caravans or vice versa, or anything to suggest MH were not welcome. All people did is offer their viewpoints on how they 'camped' and how their outfit siuted their needs and why. All said it was down to personal preference.
In my view this was one of the best threads on CT, helping a fellow member decide what was best for him.

Linfield, that sounds like a good decision for you. Something told me you weren't ready to make the change.
Take no notice of divisive posts designed to cause argument.

Things did improve, K, but seem to have started sliding backwards again recently.

Same here , we needed to change both car and Caravan four years ago.
Motorhome won. So much easier once on site. We try to book sites near villages or towns, or use public transport tô Stock up with supplies.
Quickest trip, decided to go Friday 11.30 am, booked site , on the road 1.30 pm.

They are, initially, JV.
Are you suggesting the posts of the likes of Rocky and Triky should be pre-moderated indefinitely? There aren't enough staff to cope.

We are in the fortunate position of owning both a caravan and a MH. Love going away in both, slightly different holiday experience, but no huge preference for either, depends on the holiday, where we go, what we want to do. At the moment, the MH is getting more use, but won't stop us using caravan again.
Very much an individual choice depending upon personal preferences and circumstances. Some love one, some love another, no right or wrong!
