We stayed this summer at an Adult's only site between Coventry and the NEC.  My husband was away quite a few times during the day with the car and so we had a couple of Ocado deliveries.

Have to say it worked brilliantly, but I can understand why it's not allowed on CAMC sites.

Campsites, IMO. are much better without delivery vans charging around the site roads and blasting their horns.  Groceries vans, bread vans, fish & chip vans, pizza vans. all totally unnecessary.

Only vehicles needing access are Ambulances or Breakdown service vehicles.

    cool

I don't disagree on the delivery vans K. However, the pizza and fish and chip vans just come on site and park up. They certainly don't charge about. The grocery vans do orbit the site, but all the ones I have seen have been doing it slowly. However, the main difference to delivery vans is that folk are just using them if they want to, they are not trying to deliver to a specific person.

One problem I could see if they were allowed, is that some folk would arrange  their order for the day of arrival. Almost certainly over time there would be cases of folk being delayed and arriving after their orders.

How much time does it take out of a day to call in at a local shop and support what is often very much needed trade? Yes, it may cost a few pence more but if you can afford a caravan or motorhome and afford to go away on holiday surely a few pence more isn't going to hurt. Support the local economy and not the national giants for a couple of weeks.

We  have two types of caravan trips,  "away in the caravan", short breaks, have basic supplies in van, tea, coffee, cereals etc.  Then shop locally for fresh food, to cook or Barbie.  Then there are "on holiday in the van"  stays.  And if it is a holiday break, I don't cook, apart from putting cereal in a bowl for breakfast.  Basics as above, but then it is local restaurants that get our custom and my approval and rarely do a shop.  Wouldn't mind occasionally having a takeaway delivered to the van, but would CAMC sites allow Deliveroo or UberEATS on site?
