Braemar Caravan Park
Not sure i have missed something but on arriving at Braemar Caravan Park site formerly The Invercauld ,I was told they were nothing to do with the Caravan & Motorhome club any more and my card was not needed. Its showing on the club web site as an affiliated site but it seems not to be any longer.

They are an Affiliated site, and are still showing on the club's site listing.0

Hi Canenriot, I've forwarded this to my colleague for further information and will post back shortly.

The Braemar Caravan Site is a privately owned site set amongst stunning scenery and on the outskirts of the lovely wee town of Braemar.
It now has nothing to do with the CMC. Who, in their infinite wisdom gave it away to the land owners many years ago.
It's a great site and well worth a visit. It's well run, open for much of the winter and very handy for Skiers, Climbers and other outdoor pursuits.

As a very regular user of Braemar caravan park it was the best thing in my opinion when the Invercauld Estate took it back from the club.(It was their property in the first place ). Also I have been told that the club were charging an astronomical price to be an affialated site.

gave it away? I seem to recall the lease with the owners was up and the owners wanted the site to run themselves.

I assume that AS campsites understand the business arrangement they enter into with the Club? The Club might argue that they are publicising the campsite to a potential customer base of 350000 members and I reckon that if you tried to get that sort of coverage by other means it would likely cost you as much if not more? AS sites have been know to stay in the system for a year or two to establish themselves with Club members and then withdraw from the scheme. Only the actually site will know if the amount they are paying is not being recouped by any fees they pay the Club.
