CL's between Kendal and Penrith and near to M6

I wonder if someone could help?

I travel from time to time between London and the CC site in Oban. Normally I've always done the trip over a long day but now I'm getting a little old for that sort of trip!

I'm looking to break my journey somewhere preferably between Kendal and Penrith to a CL near to the M6. (I'm not a fan of the CC site at Kendal)

    Is a farm site with 12 pitches out of the question?  Eden Valley Holidays at Newby End farm at Newby - just east of junction 39  -  would do for me. We used to live  close by and know the area. Reviews are on UKCampsite.co.uk

    How about Croft ends farm just outside Appleby, about 6 miles from the M6

    How about Englethwaite Hall, which is just off the M6 - £17.60, up to 1st Oct, then £14 - no toilet block.

    Just on Croft end farm at the moment. I it looks like they have a couple of pitches.

    Slapestone Villa, Penrith, about 5 mins from M6 Junction 40.

    Moss Thorn, Penrith. A couple of miles from M6 on the Keswick turnoff.

    Thank you all.  I think I'm going to give Moss Thorn a go.  Just what I'm after...convenient, cheap and near a superstore.

    If you can manage a Wee bit further, then Ghyll House Farm CL at Wreay near Carlisle is just a couple of miles off the M6 and is superb.
