Looking for advice
Our dog is terrified of traffic, even on fairly quiet country roads. We have just returned from a lovely CL but couldn't walk Bramble unless we drove somewhere suitable. Can anyone recommend a CL in Yorkshire, Durham or Northumberland. We need electric hook up, not too near a busy road and walks directly from the site or a decent dog walk on site..

Red House, Moor Monkton, York would suit your needs I'm sure.
Durham Rowing Club is another.

Ashfield Caravan Site (CL) located in Lockton village on North York Moors. Quiet, lawned. Has a really good dog walk straight from site, along top of a valley. Lots of other footpaths link up.
West Kyloe Farm, small private site not far from A1 close to Beal, Northumberland. Lovely site with showers and loos, great dog walking straight up from pitches. Good prices.
Scar Close CL at Hudswell, near Richmond, NYorks. Two areas, one HS, other grass pitches. Direct access to NT land and walks from pitches.
Elf Hills CL, not far from Rothbury. Farm has a very long drive, fenced off from stock, good walking for morning and evenings.
Harpendale Farm, Flamborough. Field walks direct from site, leading to cliff walks.
Rectory Farm CL and private site, Barmston near Bridlington. AO Site with a large on Site dog walk mown out around a big field. Showers and loos also.
Check out Caravanchat website, forum has lists of carefully reviewed sites with photographs from lots of dog owning visitors! Enjoy!

We've also been to Seat House, it's in a beautiful area and everything is clean and tidy. There are walks from the site, once out of the driveway you do have to go down a narrow lane with the occasional car but once over the bridge and a few hundred yards further on there is footpath on the right which leads to a beautiful walk (we saw deer here). I think it depends what time of day you exercise your dog as to whether you will encounter a car. It is only a short walk on the lane. Good luck and enjoy.
