We did get to sit outside the awning for a little while this afternoon. Long enough for a cup of tea and a scone before it clouded over for another shower. So back inside once again.

It has been dry and mostly sunny all day here so have been out in the garden and cut the lawns? so now can go away on Wednesday, with only the thought that the whole process will probably have to be done again on return plus the hedges next timeundecided

The Kuga and the caravan departed this morning. The driveway is looking very empty and I'm feeling somewhat wistful. Next step is to get rubber stamped by the medical profession on Tuesday and then I can see about some MH insurance.

    Hidden treasure!

Delving deep into the freezer today unearthed -
one turkey, one turkey carcass for future use, frozen turkey stock.
    two chickens.
    three large joints of beef.
    endless bags of mince.
    gammon and steak.
    wild duck and smoked salmon.
    unlabelled sauces and fruit purees.
burgers ready for barbecues that never happenned.

And, what I was looking for - a hoard of fruit.
Large quantities of damsons, wild plums and redcurrants.
All ready to be turned into Damson Gin and Fruity Vodka.

Now, do I have enough Gin?

Your freezer sounds like it's a similar size to mine. I always say to friends if I disappear check my freezer cos he might have put me there, or I might have fallen in 😲😲.

Defrosted mine last week, hadn't been done for probably a year or more 😶 and I knew it was getting low on stock. Sadly I didn't have any lovely surprise like you. Not one already prepared pie or dinner I wasn't aware of 😢. These days it's too big as we don't have the produce to fill it or family to feed it to, but we now have the freedom to tour in our motorhome and do long trips to daughter in NZ. So every cloud has a silver lining.

No you won't have enough gin, go buy some more. 😉

I'll be using Asda Gin - and maybe Gordons if I run out. Saving the twenty odd bottles of better stuff for drinking

BB, sounds like you had a good time at the Chateau.

Looking at the forecast we've decided to run for the med. Leaving here tomorrow probably stopping at Agen or Moissac for the night then onto coast Monday. Will try Argeles sur Mer, not been there before, with 3 weeks left we will still have time to go to Spain but if it's ok will probably not bother.

Hope the weather does settle as there are still places we wanted to go to in France. Have fun at your meet.

The weather got better yesterday evening and the day ended with a lovely blue sky and sunset. I finished reading the Saturday newspaper before dusk and then watched a couple of movies on ITV2 whilst my wife went shopping at Tesco. After she returned, we had dinner before going to bed.

I woke up due to pain in my hands so just had some painkillers and a cup of tea.

In answer to Bakers2 enquiry a page out so back, the plan is for a Marquis Majestic 125. It's 18 months old with 4K on the clock, so just about run-in. I'm having it up-plated to 3500Kg and a solar panel fitted so it's probably going to be the end of the month before things are finalised. As I said, I'm just waiting for the eye people to agree that I can actually see what I'm doing.

Following on from the comments on Argeles sur Mer, I haven't been there since the children were small and as I remember wasn't overly struck with the place. Perhaps I should give it another try.

We had Muesli for breakfast this morning, two cups of tea and two slices of toast with Bertolli and Orange Spread.

A lovely sunny morning here in Worthing. Now I'll take a walk down to reception to collect my Sunday Paper.

I'm sitting out in the awning at the moment. It was sunny earlier but has clouded over a bit since my walk over to reception to collect my Sunday paper and pay for tomorrow's. So plenty of reading material to keep me busy for the rest of the morning and probably the afternoon too!

Beautiful early autumn day here. Must get the grass cut before going to mother's and doing hers. Didn't get it done before the heavy shower here yesterday afternoon, assumed it would miss us as usual WRONG. More forecast later today and tomorrow so won't chance it.

Chaotic Skype with nz crew last yesterday. Children singing 😉 Skype issues too. But did manage to see what she'd bought clothes wise from my mum and her brother (money not yet been transferred but 'they always give me money' 😉) and what she spent from her hubby. She has 2 hours shopping on her own and her favourite shop had massive sale. First wardrobe restock since givibg birth 15 months ago! Typical she always got labels at silly prices whilst she was here! Joys of being tiny 😉. Seems the new mobile phone, desperately needed, and we suggested, comes down to just us 😲😲😲😲 was going to be from UK crew. She say contribution is acceptable but we've said combined birthday and Christmas plus a years worth of coffee and cake treats, Hers, ours, her hubby's and the kids plus kids ice creams 😂😂. She still has the ability to wind you round her little finger - especially her father 😇. So a lean week this week 😢.

Youngest granddaughter 15 months has grommet op next Friday 18th. is back on antibiotics another double ear infection. Consultant reckons ears bulging so much nerves stretched. Has also cut 5 teeth in 4 days all doubles 😲. Hopefully peaceful nights will follow!

    Milliehull have a great tip.

    Helenandtrevor enjoy the family time.

Everyone else away or at home enjoy, hope the sun arrives and gives some warmth wherever you are.

Edit OH says our grass too wet to cut as yet...........

Malcolm you have a very tolerant wife. 2 movies while she shops 😲😲. Don't make the other jealous - cos my OH would accompany me even if he couldn't help, I'd INSIST, especially if it was after dark! Anyway I'd help him put the rucksack on his back and a shoulder handled bag on each too 😂. There's no such word as can't 😉

Sorry to hear your hands are still painful. I would expect physio, and probably lots, once bandages come off. 6 weeks loss of use results in more wasted muscle than you realise 😲. So you'll need to built them back up before full use returns. So don't expect to pick up, pun intended, as you left off!

She used to shop in the evening when I was at work so she's used to that way and seems to prefer it. I would just be in her way! This way she gets to choose what she wants to buy without me interfering! She also used to watch some tv whilst I was at work after finishing the shopping.
