Hi, we are hoping to visit Oxford in November in our motorhome and are looking for recommendations of sites with hard standing and good bus access to the city centre.  Thanks in advance.

Camping and caravan club site is next door to the park and ride. Mainly off road cycling in from there too. Sorry it's not cc site only used the one mentioned. So convenient.

The Camping and Caravaning Club has a site to the south of the city, next to a park and ride bus terminus. Site is ok, but Shower Block is in dire need of refurbishment. It's Council-owned apparently and the Club can't make improvements. However, the site is ideal for a visit to Oxford.

Gosh is the facilities block still awaiting an update? It's got news 8 years since we went 😲. But then hopefully van facilities would be good enough.  We found them very clean .

I'm pretty sure they do as it's leased from the Council. The shower block is a bit drafty and the only heating is a fan heater in the ceiling opposite the extractor fan! We were there in January!

Here's a link to the 'other' club: Oxford C&CC

The site does welcome  non- members but as with CAMC there is a hefty premium per night for non -members so if you are going to be there a few nights you may consider becoming a member of CCC.

You are able to book a hardstanding pitch (with ehu) on CCC sites.

The facility block at Oxford is not an indication of the usual CCC standard.

Possible correction chasncath unless you have more recent information:

The last time we were at the Oxford site the warden told me that the site is owned by Go outdoors (whose store is in front of the site) and they will only allow the lease for a year at a time. Understandably, according to the warden, the club was reluctant to undertake a major refurbishment of the facility block when there was no guarantee that after such work the lease would be granted for another year.

Of course, you may have more up to date information.

"Of course, you may have more up to date information" I may have misheard - you may be right. It's a pity that C&CC can't update the block, because the site's otherwise ideal for Oxford.

We had to ask for the heater to be turned on because it was on a timer. The site manager had to be consulted before this was allowed.
