Stayed there many a time. From the main road there is a decent to the main site. All of the non service pitches are at this level, the service pitches actually slope back upwards, so much of the site is below the surrounding area and quite a way from the nearest mast, so sadly phone signals are quite erratic and poor. There is certainly a good signal at the site entrance by the road but most people complain of poor signal on the site. I would ring the wardens and ask?

On the plus side it's great site, good pitches and two shower blocks, and the site has great views. A bit remote though as its 15 miles to Keswick but also a good base for Ulswater and beyond that way to Ambleside. A few good pubs a few minutes drive away. Have you been before to the Lakes? Let me know if you need any more ideas for the area.

The last time we were there the only place to get a signal was at the top of the road at the site entrance.

Stayed there a few times, usually on a service pitch. No O2 signal to any of these. Last May stopped on a standard pitch and poor intermittent signal.  They were on about installing site wifi. No idea if this has been done yet. If so WhatsApp, for either text or voice communication would be an option.
