Hi Folks, I am looking to see if you can give me any advice as to how I can cure the following problem I have with my fridge?

I have a Swift Challenger SE that I bought new in March 2014 and has been well looked after etc but last time out on the last evening of a two week break, my fridge suddenly start to beep repeatedly as does when the door has not been closed properly!

Upon investigation the fridge door was closed and the beeping alarm sounded every three minutes or so. It was a series of "33 beeps" every time and when I looked at the fridge instructions/trouble shooting, there was no description at all referring to the problem I was experiencing!

When trying to cure the problem I have removed the led interior light cover, unscrewed and removed the light itself from the inside of the fridge, dried everything out as there was some moisture inside, and fitted it all back together after "greasing the electric terminals with vaseline to prevent any more moisture from getting in.

Problem still exists with 33 beeps still happening, so I removed the light terminal from the light and the beeping has now stopped and fridge working fine but without any light?

Any ideas/suggestions/cures would be greatly appreciated as we would really like our light back on?

Kind Regards,

Paul.

Suggestion. Door not turning off the interior light - sensor probably needs adjusting. Because light is on, system thinks the door is not properly closed. Happened to me. Fixed by loosening the screw that holds the light unit and adjusting the unit fractionally. The light is turned off by a small button that is pushed in by the door.
