packing a caravan for touring

Could someone please advise how to pack a caravan for touring, we are going on a 7 hour journey & I would like to have one night stopover (himself wants to do it in one) but with awnings, ground sheets, chairs & BBQ how do you caravaners manage a stop over.  Our caravan is only a two birth with end bathroom. Any advise from you seasoned tourers

    A 7 hour day towing is our max so you are probably wise to consider a stop over - you are on holiday not an endurance test.  Of course on a stop over you would not be errecting the awning etc!  We are able to put the awning, chairs, wastemaster and aquaroll in the car so we do not have to worry about them for stop overs.  Doing this also helps towing by reducing weight in the caravan.  If they will not fit in the car whilst travelling I'm afraid it is probably moving them into it for the overnight stop.

    When we towed a caravan we carried anything large in the car.

    Apart from convenience when stopping, you need to consider payload, GA, and it's very likely that carrying all that gear inside the caravan will mean you are overloaded. 

    It's a simple choice between cluttering up the van, putting it in the car, or not taking all the gear.

    I reckon the car will go just as well! cool laughing tongue-out

    Again, watch your weights, though, in the car, the van, and your gross train weight.

    Looks like this is another duplicate thread and missing posts are on the other one.

    A good reason to try and clear some space in the van when you travel is so that you can sit in it for a break. We take a flask, make sandwiches etc, enjoy a rest on the seats, we did the same with our caravan.
