    I have to say that in our many years of motor homing we have never had bad neighbours.But at 9-30pm I would have told him to get over himself and that he was in the wrong pastime.Miserable old sod.

    Surely regardless of the time, if people are making too much noise then they should be quietened down? Not saying that the original poster was being too loud but some people/children can get loud and carried away without realising it. Maybe the OP was being loud? Maybe they didn't realise? Maybe the neighbor was having a bad day? Maybe the neighbor was being out of order? We wasn't there so its hard for us to know but either way don't let it put you off as 99% of club members are good people.

    Just another thought, and not comparing or criticising parenting skills, at home there was generally set bed times but when we caravanned with young children, (the youngest was 2 when we started) there was no set 'bedtime' while away. There certainly was a set-the-beds-up time which usually started when they started falling asleep and this time got later through the years but then they could stay awake as long as they wanted, they were in the back of the van and us in the front. Actually many times we were asleep before them. And it was up to them when they woke up but they had strict instructions not to wake us!

    Just because you have kids you can't impose a 9.30 curfew on everyone else. Even if had to ask someone to tone it down later in the evening then should always ask in a polite manner. However, an awning is made of material, pitches are so close together, and you can often hear people chatting away late into the evening and it has often prevented me from getting to sleep.Not talking about the op at just 9.30 but it would be nice if some people considered moving inside from their awning as it grows later.

    Crikey, I hope your neighbours never take a holiday at a site in Spain! At 21.30 hours they are just starting to cook their evening meal.

    SWMBO and I stayed at Campsite Pueblo Blanca by Olvera (highly recommended) for a couple of weeks in February/March which happened to coincide with the Andalucía Day holiday weekend. When we arrived the site was knee deep in children all having a great family time, they all seemed to be up and outside enjoying themselves until well after midnight. There was music, laughter, loud talking - and a great family atmosphere. It was a great time to 'people watch' and enjoy the family fun by proxy. laughing

    After a couple of days they all upped sticks and left and then the site was a quiet as a graveyard, with just a few Germans (not talkative), Dutch (happy to chat) and the occasional (complaining) Brit!

    On the other hand we have stayed at a site in Wales where there were children running riot with catapults, whose parents did nothing to control them - we only stayed one night.

    It takes all sorts...as the saying goes, and the variety is all a part of life's rich pattern. Log it down to experience, and don't let it put you off.
