I've just bought today a new Kia Sorrento (yes the kids are upset I'm spending 'their inheritance') and just to say that the member offer as detailed in the offers section really did work!

£1000 worth of genuine Kia accessories when purchasing a Kia Sorento. see here. After we agreed the sale, I mentioned the offer, they asked to see my membership card and they said, right what do you want? No quibble at all! They passed over the list of accessories and said I could have whatever I wanted up to £1000.

The list is quite extensive. As I'm not interested in side steps or bike rack, I opted for the kia fitted detachable tow bar and full electrics. Now this did come to a mind blowing £840 but it will be fitted before the car gets to the dealers (in two weeks time) by Kia at the distribution centre. I topped up the rest with full mats and a heavy boot liner. I know the price of the tow bar and electrics is very high, but it's considerably cheaper than paying for it myself at a local fitter, I realise that I could have got it done there and had more accessories but they were all the extras I wanted.

Also there is a free three year service plan at the moment across the Sorrento and Sportage ranges.

We also got the car nearly £4000 off the full price So all in all I’m a happy chap. Thank  you club

Good for you Corners. That's a few years membership fees for free! Now if only the Club can negotiate a similar deal with Jeep....laughing

If they'd offer it on hybrids I would fall off my perch in delight, getting our new car tomorrow. Our  discounts thanks to OH school of charm.  smile

Enjoy yours too Corners, happy motoring.

Good on you, Corners. I often wondered if a better deal could be negotiated without using the club's discount but you've proved that not to be the case.

I think you're wise to go for the Kia fitted towbar and electrics. Firstly, car electrics are so complicated these days that a non-Kia towbar fitter may not have the specialised equipment or knowledge and, secondly, there can be no question of invalidating any warranty if the work is done in house.

Thanks everyone. looking forward to getting it a week Saturday.

yes that's why I left it till after we had agreed the price, but really no quibble.

Also, I used carwow website to get the best offer, luckily two of the 'offers' were local. Again that worked very well, even if you go to another garage you show them the carwow price

Just like you we did a very similar deal on a new Sorento, great discount, £1000.00 of accessories and had a £1000.00 finance contribution if I went down the pcp route and then to pay it off in 2-3 months ( but don't tell anyone at Kia) mums the word.

just one word of caution, when we went to view the car the towball to bumper clearance was on 73mm, however I am assured it was either a incorrect made tow bar or Swan neck, I have been assured it will be sorted by Friday when we collect it, the only downside is we were advised not to tow the van until we have covered 1000 miles and as we are booked to go away on the 10th September we have some miles to cover, but at least the dealer helped with a full tank of fuel to soften the blow, so enjoy your new toy and the kids inheritance 😜😜

Thanks for the reply, I did ask at least two times if the tow bar would be Ok for an Alko stabiliser hitch and they assured it was but I will check. What should the clearance be?

We were told the same the same thing about PCP and not to tell them they had told us that! And the 1000 miles as well was mentioned as well. Can't wait to get it.

    Corners

i spoke direct to Bosal who supply the towbar, on a fixed Swan neck they give a measurement of 90mm, on the detachable Swan neck they give a measurement of 100mm from the centre of the ball to the bumper, on mine they are certain the wrong Swan neck was supplied, but I will find out in the morning when we pick it up, then off on a 200 mile trip to get some miles on, enjoy yours next week 👍👍
