New Honda CRV 1.6 as a tow car

Thinking of changing Honda 2.2 CRV for the new Honda CRV SR 1.6 I-DTEC MANUAL 4WD. Does anyone have experience of towing with new Honda 1.6? It comes up as a suitable match for our caravan Swift Challenger 510 Alde .We are wondering about  what  difference in engine size makes to the towing experience. Is it underpowered? Thanks

    We were in the same boat with our 2014 2.2 CRV, decided a 1.6 was not for me when towing, de died in the end to go for a new Kia Sorento, and I had a far better deal as a new Kia customer than an existing Honda customer who purchased 2 previous CRV's.

    but this has been raised before, some like it some don't, each to their own, but Sorento did it for me👍

    Don't know yr MTPLM but we tow 1250kg - not sure I'd want to risk a 1.6 but there is a 2 litre CRV, which was on our shortlist but ended up as 2nd choice against a Subaru Forester - came down to money in the end!

    Had a test drive a few months ago wasn't impressed,took advantage of Club offer with Volvo and got a fantastic deal on XC60 nobody else could touch the deal.
