What are you all up to

Bright enough day today, strong winds though. Spent 4 hours in the garden this morning while OH was giving my car a check up, he thinks its time we looked to replace it before it starts to need work done.Â
Then into the retail park late afternoon, got a few bits from The Range, still haven't found a runner for the kitchen that I like, tried 3 shops today. Will have a look while we are away, I always mange to find stuff I like when not at home.
Eldest son and family now up here, staying with his wife's parents as usual. Meeting up with them all tomorrow after we have visited Mum. There is a fun day going on in Perth with bands and dancing, Chinese dragon etc. it will be good to see them as its been months since we last saw them. Eldest G'daughter is starting boarding school up here next Wednesday, guess she is somewhere between excited and scared, will find out tomorrow.
Malcolm, funny enough I don't dislike winter up here, as Kj says we get some really nice sunny crisp days which are great for going out in, once you have the right clothes its not a problem. We also like to tour down South over the winter months and have done so a few times now in January. Really enjoy it then as its less busy both in the cities and on site. We tend to get back to the van about 4.30 pm have a nice hot drink and watch a bit of tv, then eat around 6.30 - 7 pm followed by more tv or a film. We like the Abbey Wood site in London as its easy to get into the city from there. Must look out some shows and museums for our next visit.

Yes Abbey Wood is nice but Crystal Palace is closer to the city centre so that you can leave the car on site and use the number 3 bus to get there.

Many happy returns of the day for tomorrow, KjellNN!

I've noticed that too Brue, whilst out just after sun up this morning the crispness of the air was very Autumnal. The clarity of the light was beautiful, rendering the colours of the berries against the leaves sharply. The next season is almost upon us.

Yes the same here in the Lot France down to 9c last night and feeling cooler in the mornings much earlier than last year even some trees are changing colour and some dropping their leaves hope this does not mean a long winter although we can still sit out until December if sunny. 25c for today and up to 34c on Tuesday a bit to warm for me.

Yes, it's much cooler and more comfortable in the morning now. Like you say, it is starting to feel more like Autumn. Nice sunny morning this morning!
It was quiet at work yesterday evening so they let me go home one hour earlier but asked me to do an extra two hours today. So I'm doing 18:30 to 23:00 tonight.

Beautiful start to the day bright and sunny, not going to get hot though just around 18c but as long as it stays dry for the fun day that's the main thing.Â
No work planned for the day, going to see Mum then meet up with eldest son and family at the fun day. Will probably all end up coming back to our house for dinnerÂ
Hope it stays dry tomorrow too as attic room velux  x 2 are coming out and new ones going in. Will start putting things together for our next trip away not long now.
Would agree on the Autumnal feel, we have a few bushes that have started dropping leaves and others that are changing colours. Son in Malta says its still silly hot there.

Tammygirl have a lovely time with your son and family. Dinner together will be great, even if it's you that has to cook 😉. I'm sure your store cupboard has already been prepared for it just in case 😂.
Oneputt have your walk but avoid Cromer 😲.  The fence painting will wait.
Husky glad the practices are edible 😉
KjellNN happy birthday for tomorrow, give yourself a day off as a treat 😉
Beautiful start here but have to agree about the autumnal feel 😲. Way too early I think!
Bit of pottering here then a stock up of supplies, managed on bits and bobs of fresh things since our return last Monday but now getting extremely low 😉. Then over to friends for dinner but one of their daughter's working until 4pm so no need to rush.
Can't believe we've not had any rain or even a heavy dew usually get something when V is on. Having to go further a field shopping - really sloppy planning 😉 to avoid them all at Tesco replenishing and using the facilities.
Enjoy your day folks however you spend it. Sorry if I forgot anyone personally.Â

We've just been to Tesco Extra pfs to fill up fuel for the Smart car. So the car's now ready for work for tonight.
Now we're having a cup of tea in the awning.

It's getting a little warmer here now but still pleasant weather. We've got our lunch cooking at the moment. It will be ready in about 20 minutes.

Yes I agree that 34c is much too hot. I hope you have aircon, Redkite! You'll need it! Ours goes on as soon as temperature hits 26c.

Wow just finished lunch in the garden and having a catch up on here. The sun is burning hot - beautiful 😉 my thermometer on the my phone says 35.7c in the full sun. Lovely. Need to top on the warmth and vitamin D whilst we can. Sadly won't be out here long, more pottering to do. Yes suncream applied, as always in the summer months it's my moistureiser after showering 😉. Sun's behind a cloud now drop of 10 degrees 😲
Just using Dylon's pod to refresh some Jean 3/4's. Just pop the damp fabric and the pod in the washing machine so easy, (well it will be if the dye doesn't hang around in there 😉. I intend to do a hot empty wash once they're finished). Seems to be a very good result, they're now on a full wash after washing as per the instructions. I used to navy blue rather than Jean blue as marginally lighter,  wish I'd put the cream ones in that I'm wearing as it's not a very practical colour 😢. They were originally the very pale jeans colour which are a few years old but still fit and fabric is good, they just looked tired. I want them for winter sun trip and naturally it's the wrong time in the year to buy others 😂😂!

We have  just returned home from a nice weekend at LussC&CC site the only downside being that it rained all day yesterday but we had a nice dribe to Inverurie and then spent the afternoon in Helensborough. The Luss site is good with beautiful views across the loch we were very lucky to get a loch side pitch which was a bonus

Just returned home from a very nice day out at the Imp. war museum - Duxford.
Weather was warm and sunny, several light aircraft taking to the skies with the appropriate snarl of their engines.
Superb exhibition, but food a little on the expensive side.
Well worth a visit if keen on WW2 history/aircraft and more.
Particularly if you are in the Cambridge/Herts/M11 area.

KjellNN - Happy Birthday
Have a great day, hope you get lots of presents and a lovely birthday (caravan shaped) cake, I won't ask how many candles would be needed but I assume it's greater than 40 now?
Best wishes

Hoping to finish work early today to do some food shopping before my 10 day trip to the C&CC site at Canterbury with my Granddaughter starting tomorrow, including a couple of days in Boulogne sur Mer.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes!  Having a quiet day, DD coming for dinner  tonight, but the party is not till this coming Saturday, at our son's house.
There will no doubt be a cake, as making cakes is one of DD's hobbies, Â though I doubt it will be caravan shaped. The right number of candles would not fit on, so she will probably have a couple of those number candles.
As can be seen from the photo, the numbers will be quite large, and will involve a 5 and a 7!

you look good for 57 K. You could write the number in base 16 - either 39 or (even better) 4b
or writing your age in base 70 would be 15, you should be able to fit those number of candles on it. Mind they are spread out so they do not affect nose weight of your cake too much.
have a great day and week.

or 35, or 2 even (this is like being back at work - write out all the number using 5 and 7 using any mathematical operator)
