I noticed that corners said must be originals not copies. However, how do they know? As far as I am concerned it is an original, as I just made it.😀 Also lots are available as pdf's and print just the same as one you would get in the post. I suppose on a home printed one, the ink might run if you wet it, I can't say I have tried.

Staying home today as the 'Airshow' over Herne Bay is going on ,so I have to try to keep 'joe public' from invading my front area's of my property.Had damage and trash in past years!! No respect

KjellNN, you're saying that in the middle of the summer with the bright light of the sun until late in the evening! It's a different story in the winter when it's dark by 4.30 p.m. You won't be able to see or enjoy the peace of the countryside in the dark. So don't you think you'll be glad of some bright lights at that time of year?
Further north it can be dark nearly all day and all night! So even more need of lit up places, surely?

EasyT, I remember last winter staying in the caravan on an unlit CS and how hard it was in the winter when you had to spend six hours of the evening in darkness. Even the moon and stars were invisible when the sky was obscure as it often is in the winter. How much nicer it would be to stay on a club site like Crystal Palace at that time of year which is much more lit up so that you can see outside your caravan window!
Yes, I agree, it's chilly outside at that time of year but you need not be outside for too long when there are restaurants, cinemas, theatres and many other indoor heated places to visit. Also there's heating in the caravan too! It's just nice to be able to look out of the window and be able to see; instead of a dark landscape where nothing is visible!

I was thinking the same thing as a properly printed pdf file would be indistinguishable from one printed by a bank and sent in the post. Most of us get our Certificate of Motor Insurance by e-mail now as a pdf file does that mean the police wouldn't accept it?

Don't you pull the blinds once it is dark Malcolm? The Alde heating is much more effective when it isn't trying to rise over cold windows.

Can't say that 4.30pm is a time for museums M. Never wish to dine out in the UK of an evening unless with friends. Theatres in most places when we are away in Winter are taken over by pantos ...... Oh Yes They Are! We normally find that we can see outside just fine and don't normally shut blinds completely until gone 9.30 ish.

I am not adverse to visiting cities. However, there is nothing worse than wandering round one trying to admire the sites when it is freezing. I would much rather be on a walk in the hills. Seems the right place to be on a crisp winters day, not in the city breathing in the pollution.☹️
Lovely day here in Notts, off for a walk shortly, will probably take lunch as to try and get in anywhere in the holidays is impossible. Too many visitors looking for Robin Hood.😂

Beautiful start to the day here 😆. But it is V so bound to rain at some point 😉.
Malcolm once the sunset sets it's dark wherever you are unless there's artifical lighting. I grew up in the sticks so know what dark is, especially on cloudy or moonless nights. Lived in the town for years now and even with street lights you have to be standing at or close to a window to see anything - generally someone walking and bundled up in warm clothes certainly nothing to inspire 😆. Once it's dark it's time to close the curtains and shut out the night, unless you want to stargaze or go out for a purpose, and enjoy pastimes that suit the time of year 😉
Off to visit lonely aunt and do a bit of shopping for her on the way. Looking forward 😉 to discussions about age, why are we here and blood test results. Still once we leave we'll have clear conscious as well have done our duty 😔. So sad but there's them that are only happy when they're sad!

Bright, sunny but very breezy, washing blowing nicely outside, just hope the pegs hold
OH has just gone to give his "expert" advice on a second hand car a friend is interested in, so sneeking a catch up on here. Have been busy mopping and hoovering so deserve a break.
Gave up with the Vat and admitted defeat yesterday, emailed accountant for a second opinion before subtitling return online. Never mind only 4 more work days until our holiday, yippee will need a break by then!
We used to visit London on the train occasionally but although there are some interesting places to visit we were always glad to get home
Now much prefer the countryside, our son keeps telling us how exciting Manchester is and we must visit the city, but can't say we are that keen, Perhaps were getting too old! 0 -
No, absolutely not!
It is of course earlier dark in winter, but certainly not dark all day, we are nowhere near far enough north for that. Even in my home town (inside the Arctic Circle) where we do get about 4 weeks when the sun does not rise, it is not actually dark, just not as light as proper daylight.
We get some brillant crisp winter days up here, more than enough hours to enjoy a day out, though as ET said, we may not want to go out if it is very cold.
We have already been away for almost 3 months, and we have another month+ coming up, so long enough for us, there are limits to how much we budget fir holidays!
For shopping, Glasgow has great shops so no real need to go elsewhere, but we don't shop much these days other than for food and the odd thing for the house, like an oven, we have far too much "stuff" as it is!
We will be far too busy to have time for more holidays anyway, plus it will not be long till Christmas once our next trip is over.

Eating out.....we often find that disappointing. OH loves to cook, so it has to be something really special or different to tempt us out.
More often, for birthdays etc, instead of us organising something as in the past, one of our children will arrange a family get-together and lay on a special meal. That way we can stay over with them and enjoy a glass of wine.
When in the van, we pull down the blinds when it gets dark, bit at home we do not need to bother as our living area is upstairs and nobody can see in. Some rooms we do close blinds and curtains when it gets dark, just to keep the heat in.
Our house sits on a hill NW of the city so from our living room window we look out over the bright lights of the city at night, and during the day we can see all the way over to the hills to the south and west.

We spent the morning walking up Highdown Hill and visiting Highdown Gardens, which is just a short walk from the club site. It was ideal weather for walking. Soon after we got back, it started tipping down with rain. We just fot back in time to avoid the shower. We also got the Smart car back to our pitch after its overnight stay in the car park.
Lunch is cooking at the moment.
I'll be working 18:30 to 22:30 again this evening. I hope I can finish on time tonight so that I can be back on site before 23:00 when the site barrier locks for the night!

No I'm sure they would anyway the police have access to who has insurance through the registration plate recognition software.

Well back home now after a six mile walk. Started from home walked to beach then passed the golf course to Hopton and down onto the beach. Checked out the Sand Martins who are now on their third brood (been a good year) then back along the beach to the Harbours mouth and along the river Yare home. Very satisfying although the couple of miles walking on the sand was had work.

We're at New England Bay. As soon as we arrived the torrential rain started. So put off putting up the awning and spent the evening inside - mainly eating and drinking. We tried to watch Mastermind on television, but the sound of the rain on the roof was so noisy, we had to use subtitles.
A long sleep in this morning and feeling fortified by bacon sandwiches and coffee, we put up the awning.
Breezy and mostly sunny, so we're planning a barbecue tonight. Nothing posh or Cadac etc - just Aberdeen Angus burgers and chicken kebabs on a small charcoal Webber.

Sounds idyllic Goldie. Rain good excuse to rest up, which I would suggest is more than earned for both of you. Shame about the noise though but subtitles are great 😉.

And while we're away, the farm is in the more than capable hands of the 5th and 6th generations to farm here.

One more sleep then off to Dorset via a few days at Morn Hill back in September (date not yet agreed with OH) Rosa now feeling her feet, she has worked out the squirrel "hot spots" on her walks,and will also now let us groom her without showing stress even rolls over so both sides can be done, we shall see how she gets on at the seaside, also will be taking her to Arne rspb (on her lead),

Have been visiting my Mum in her residential home, trying to avoid all the holiday traffic adds another hour to the journey. We had two dogs with us, the residents always enjoy seeing pets. They had visiting Alpacas recently who were very well behaved. We left Mum going to her exercise class, a cheerful sit down affair followed by tea and cake.
Now we're home and tired and we've missed the village flower show which looked very busy...much grumbling over who won what no doubt. Nice to read about holidays. New England Bay is a good relaxing spot.
Hope Rosa enjoys her walk at Arne, a favourite place of mine.

Had a trip down to the retail park this afternoon, OH wanted some shoes, but I ended up buying a few bits from Primark too.
Gave the Cadac a good clean, much easier to do it at home, it gets washed while we're away but gets a more thorough clean at home.
Off to a friends 50th birthday party tonight, but guess who is driving!

Another mainly wet day, started sunny but rain by 10.30. Finally stopped raining around 5.30pm.
Catching up on some paperwork, otherwise pottering.
Tomorrow we have a "retirement party" for OH at the Guide Hall, she finally gave up the main part of looking after the Hall after just over 20 years. She is however still Treasurer, and I am still called on to do various repairs, but at least we have handed over the day to day running.
On Monday we have DD coming for dinner as it will be my birthday, OH is making lasagne.
Today I got a birthday card from a very old friend, then later a mysterious parcel arrived, which turned out to be a bottle of best Norwegian Akavit. No card with it, but I reckon my friend sent it.
