Area recommendations please
Looking to plan our next short break in the caravan for early September, thinking of Yorkshire.
We've already seen the east coast from Hornsea up to Whitby also we've stayed at Harrogate/knaresborough and done York. Also seen Hawes and Skipton recently.
Any thoughts on the Goole area? Is this worth a visit?

What about the Hull area. It really depends what you want to see or do.

Erm....Goole isn't usually considered very touristy, however, if you cross the Trent and go into North Lincolnshire, you might be as delighted with the area as we were! Avoid Scunthorpe for other than petrol and Tesco, but up above at places like Burton Stather and Alkborough, right round the Humber Estuary heading East, it is another beautiful world! Some fantastic birdwatching, walking and cycling, Normanby Hall is a great day out, Thornton Abbey Gatehouse (EH) is very interesting. We used a lovely CL at Alkborough with its own farmhouse cafe, delicious food. HS pitches, ehus, all in a garden like setting. No other facilities, but what else do you need. There is a nice CS in Burton Stather as well, friends used this, with facilities. Easy access across Humber via Bridge if you want it. Lincoln not far away, also Grimsby, which I am informed has an interesting fishing heritage trail.
Edit: Alkborough CL is called College Farm, I will try and post a photo, but may not be small enough! Nope, sorry this carp site just won't take it unless reduced down to not worth looking at!

Happy to help! It is a very nice CL. I did a full review on the Caravanchat website, with pictures. Epworth is the Goole side of the Trent, another very nice large village. (We have family there).
Area is one of best we have been for spotting rarer birds, we were lucky enough to see Bitterns and Spoonbills, but September should be really good for migrating wildfowl if birdwatching is of any interest. RSPB Blacktoft Sands isn't far.
Not sure if you have a dog, but if you do, very good site, excellent dog walking direct from site.

How about somewhere around the Beverley area? It's a lovely little town in itself with a beautiful minster church and it's convenient for visiting Hull, UK City of Culture, and York. There are a number of sites and CLs near there. (Also look at places like Stamford Bridge and Pocklington.)

We stay at College Farm on a regular basis - 16 miles from us. Veryan and Bill are lovely hosts and the tea room run by Veryan is great. For £12 per night you can't go wrong. Access is through the sometimes muddy farmyard but on the whole the site is lovely. Some road noise from the adjacent road, particularly around harvest time from farm vehicles.
We find loads to do in the area as TTDA has said. We actually visited Brodsworth Hall near Sheffield from there last weekend, lovely place. A bit further towards Grimsby, there is another CL Hunger Hill Farm which is also good value and gives the ability to visit the Fishing Heritage Centre in Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Louth, a lovely market town nearby.
