If you could recommend one site which one and why?
Member recommendation is a valuable source of information on Club Together, so that's why I'm asking, if you had to recommend one Club or CL site, which one would it be and why?

I would not attempt to single out one of the CC sites Ro. I have been content with most as a base.
There are several that I would not consider using because of proportions of types of pitch or because of poor access/egress ........ didn't ask that tho'

Please feel free to recommend more than one site and good point - people of course have lots of favourites.
There will be sites that are suitable for some but not ideal for others so would be good to know which ones you do like and why.

That depends, if we have the grandchildren with us then Hillhead as there is plenty there for kids to do. That also applies to Longleat but we also like it there when on our own, nice and quiet out of school holidays and a good base for visiting nearby places. Our favourite was always Moreton in Marsh, because it is a good base for the things that we like to do. However, if it is wet the drainage on some pitches can be bad there, especially if using an awning. It does often depend on the pitch though, I know that a lot of members like the Henley site but the one time we stayed there the only pitch we could get was near the road, it was so noisy that we didn't want to sit out, wouldn't go there again.

Truth is Ro that there may be those that I will not use but can only recommend the network in general both facility and non-facility sites. I struggle to think of any that I have used that have not been excellent for location and for the site itself. There is only one that I constantly return to and that is Southport and simply because it is a convenient place for our regular 2 week break over Christmas. Station nearby for trips to Liverpool with its museums, architecture (shops?) and also to see the Iron Men installation at Crosby beach. Stroll around the Marine Lake or on the pier. The theatre 20 mins stroll away, various parks and the red squirrels and walks at Formby Point,

The only downside of the site itself is an apparent lack of tree and shrub planting in the newer park of the site leaving it a tad soulless.

If I had to nominate just one CC site, it'd be Cirencester Park, out of high season. I know some of the HS pitches are narrow but many are not and the grass pitches at the far end of the site, near the dog walk are great if you have dogs. Easy walking into one of the nicest of Cotswold towns, or just for a stroll into the park itself. Lots of villages and country pubs within a short driving distance. It's the nearest site to home for us but we still love using it for short breaks early and late in the year.
Even harder to nominate a CL, we've stayed on so many varied ones and never once left unsatisfied. But if I had my arm twisted I'd say Drake House Farm near Clitheroe, not the cheapest of CLs but you get what you pay for and the views across to Pendle Hill come free!

Ferry Meadows at Peterborough, on the edge of a big country park for us, just over an hour from home,and so much to do in the area,have been useing it since the early 1980s
I remember being told by a Warden at Ferry Meadows some years ago "members come here for a couple of nights ,and then keep booking on and at the end of a fortnight say how are we going to tell our family and friends that we have just spent a wonderfull time in Peterborough",says it all really

Location, location, location....so Crystal Palace or Baltic Wharf, although they have few other virtues besides location.

I suppose if I had to recommend a site it would have to be Stamford or Top Lodge as I still like to call it. It's the only site we keep going back too.
The site doesn't suit everyone as there's no toilet block, but we enjoy the woodland walks and wildlife on the doorste, great for dogs too.. The site is usually peaceful and a great place for R&R. 1 -
I have always enjoyed returning to Plymouth Sound, it's high up with distant views of Dartmoor and looks directly over the sound where there's lots of shipping. From ferries to submarines it's quite a view, twinkling lights at nighttime and big skies. The beach down the hill at Bovisand is very nice and in the far distance a glimpse of the Eddystone Lighthouse. It's not a favourite, I don't really have one but I like that corner of Devon.

North Ledaig, the views, out of main season a lovely quiet site and rarely any midges unlike Bunree.
Berwick Seaview, the views, plenty of things to do close by and great fish and chips down the hill.
White Water Park, lots to do in the area and love the cycle paths each side of the river, now there are more H/S its much better too.
Dockray Meadow peaceful pretty and lots to do in the area.

North Ledaig or Bunree. We have only been to a small number of club sites South of the Border. But Bunree is probably our favourite site due to its outlook and coastal position. Although North Ledaig is also on the coast it has a less peaceful atmosphere. We do prefer Oban to Fort William though.

I'd selfishly not recommend a particular favourite as I might not get a pitch next time.
There are many that could go on a favourite list and a few I wouldn't return to if you paid me.

Kinlochewe, when there's still snow on the tops, and the midges have not yet arrived. Great views, large pitches, quiet & peaceful.
Still haven't found our perfect CL, but love trying to find it.

For us it would have to be Fairlight Wood in Sussex.It was one of our favorite sites in our previous caravaning days and having revisited it again a few times now it still is. Its so peaceful there is a nice walk from the site through the woods tp a great pub that has really nice food and ale. there is another larger wood across the road for a longer walk if you wish. There are some beautiful beeches about 10 minutes drive away with loads of parking. Then you have Battle, Rye, Hastings to name a few places on your doorstep.
The whole area is very dog friendly and the Wardens are some of the nicest people you could ever meet.

None of my favourites are CC one used to be but changed out of all recognition...and that was Longleat, never go back there, you now have to go via the tradesman entrance at a he back door..😡
