I am looking for a new Tow Car and want to keep it compact.  I have just come accross the figures for the VW Tiguan which seem impressive at 2200kg and 100kg nose weight.  And yet these cars seem to be rarely mentioned.  Anyone had any experience towing
with a Tiguan

No Stephen, but I am very interested in one to replace our Audi Q3.  I tow a Delta Ri with it but next time I want something with a higher nose weight.

I tow a 1326 kg caravan with a 2014 Tig 2ltr TDi DSG (Yes I know not a true auto but it has 2 pedals!).  I have done 40k miles in it about 20k towing all over Europe.  Excellent tow car and very reliable, a smallish boot but if just 2 of you the sliding rear seats allow plenty of storage, ride a little hard. Economy pretty good, I get about 30+ mpg towing and 45+ mpg solo both figures for longish trips The new Tig is even better car.

StephenP, I picked up a copy of Practical Caravan today and there is an excellent review on the Tiguan 190 R Line.  They give it 4.5 stars out of 5.  Definitely worth a read.

    An OP post from 2013,

Still not sure about towing 2200kg,this looks like the manufacturers max weight, rather than kerbweight
