2017 Sargent 310 alarm
First time to caravanning. Bought a new caravan 2 weeks ago. Alarm goes off once a day on new Lunar Delta. Got to it this morning and pressed fob, and it beeped 4 times.
Spoke to Dealer and we did a factory reset, which is different to alarm manufacturers reset.
Any ideas please

On our old Lunar Clubman SB to set the alarm you pressed until your hear one Bleep to cancel two bleeps exactly the same has our Coachman VIP. Now l did hear something about where its situated if it was near the tracker needed to be moved further away, sure it was on an earlier post but can't be sure maybe someone will know on here

HI Martin & Pat. I have recently had to have a replacement 310 alarm from Sargent because the sound volume when the alarm went off was very low. Regretfully I found this new unit was also faulty inasmuch as the alarm kept going off about once every day for no apparent reason. Sometimes it was three beeps (PIR trigger) when I stopped the alarm and on a couple of occasions 4 beeps ( tilt trigger). Tim and Adam at Sargent have been extremely helpful and have sent both a new PIR and a new base unit to try to overcome the problem. Hopefully it is now solved but it would seem that there may be an inherent problem with this particular unit design as you appear to have the same problem as I did. Interestingly, my caravan is also a Lunar (2015) although I'm sure the make of caravan should not make any difference unless it is something to do with the way Lunar have fitted them.

I have a similar problem on my 2017 Sterling Eccles. The alarm goes off once per day mainly around 5.00 to 7.00 a.m. I tried closing all blinds in order to block sunlight however this didn't work. My dealer suggested I try leaving the caravan in "pet mode" i.e. with internal sensor turned off. This has stopped the spurious alarms and I now await a new sensor which I will fit myself. Seems the sensors can be too sensitive to temperature and/or changes in light.

The sensitivity of the PIR (and of the tilt sensor) can be adjusted by the user. Instructions are shown on page 1 of the handbook for the alarm. The default setting is number 2 (of three possible settings).
Sargent have told me, however, that they have had to change the design of the PIRs because of problems.

Hi.
Yes. I omitted to say that my alarm is set to the highest count i.e. least sensitivity hence the problem in my caravan would logically appear to be an oversensitive sensor. No problems since putting the alarm into pet mode which would indicate the sensor is too sensitive.

having not used the van for three months we were was disturbed in the middle of the night to receive a warning from Phantom that the alarm had been set off. Having previously disregarded a similar warning three years back only to find that an entry to our van had been aborted but 20 others nearby not so lucky, I phoned police.
Fortunately a false alarm but with "technical" at Phantom advising us, it was determined that as the 'van had been stored too many degrees off the horizontal the Sargeant sensor had belatedly decided that enough was enough and set off the alarm. The caravan has now been levelled, We have not been disturbed again and hopefully have remedied the problem.
Moral of the story. Store your van within the tolerance of your movement sensor - worry about cleaning the roof later!!

The tilt sensor works automatically and does not need adjustment for normal use even if you park on a steep incline.
I'd suggest that Phantom are ill advised 😉

We have a 2008 Sargent AS210 alarm fitted, it has an adjustment for back to front levelling of the caravan, see left hand lever in attached photo. Only once did the internal sensor detect the sun when we had forgotten to close a window blind.

We bought a new Lunar Clubman at the end of July and have had alarm issues, so the subject is very much at the forefront with me at the moment. Re the original post, 4 beeps indicates that the alarm was triggered by the tilt sensor I believe but can't comment on the cause!
In the 8 weeks or so we've had the caravan, we've been phoned by Phantom 5 or 6 times to say the alarm has been triggered but when we've disarmed the alarm it's produced the normal 2 beeps indicating no trigger event! On 2 occasions we were close to the caravan and could absolutely state that the audible alarm had not sounded. After several phone conversations with Phantom and Sargent technical helplines, Sargent provided a new alarm (very good service by the way!) so we're waiting to see if the problem is cured. In conversations, I learned that Coachman apparently have problems with interference as the units are located too close (not so on Lunar apparently) and that the tracker is activated by a voltage output from the alarm sounder. I've also learned that the retailer has no idea how the system works! I've looked online but not seen any posts where others have had the same experience (maybe not looked properly) but hope this reply proves useful to others who may suffer the same issue!!
