Electric Hook Up

We are new to using a motorhome. Hooked it up tonight to a plug socket in the house to cool the fridge. No electrics are working if it is switched to Aux with the Master switch on. If we switch to Vehicle battery electrics work.

What are we doing wrong? Help please.

Our motor home (2016 Elddis Sunseaker 185) has just a master on and off, plug in mains and works with master on but to be honest haven’t tried it with master off to see if 240 and fridge still available. We have had 2 caravans and 2 motor homes but none have had an Aux or leisure battery option.

If you don’t have a manual try Google there are lots of manuals and reviews available online going back many years that might help. If you are more specific about your van there is every chance someone her will have owned one or know someone that has or had one or if there are details on the electric control panel that will open the knowledge base up further as same panel will have been used on a multitude of caravans and motor homes.

You should have a mains isolator which is attached to the fuse board /charger control usually found in one of the bed boxes near where the mains comes into the van. Check that it is on and also that the overload trips are on
