Morrisons
I have just filled up at Morrison's and noticed a notice by the pump in very small font, from tomorrow the points that you get on your More card is getting reduced by 50% instead of 10 points it's now 5 points for fuel.....Tesco or Asda for me now on principal....

Tesco halved the clubcard points on petrol sales quite a few years ago, so don't bother going there.........

I just buy what's most convenient. It's not cost effective to drive miles to save a few pence.

Every thing is being reduced in size or benefits and then great play will be made by the marketing depts when a new "bigger"product is introduced at a higher price, which is the size the product was originally, or they will offer a special offer of extra points which is what they reduced them from some weeks earlier,Supermarkets are the worst when they offer 5p or more off fuel if you spend £50 or more, the fuel had just been put up by 3p a ltr

A lot of outlets, shops /garages, have also dropped the "Nectar Card " too.

I bank with the Halifax had the same account years just had my now ex removed from it ,when we opened it they gave you points on using you debit card which was added up and given to you in November they then dropped this and gave you £5 per moth for putting in more than £750 month and having a direct debit leave your account now they have dropped it to £3 ,I not shop at Morrisons as I not live near to one use Sainsburys for my fuel as I can pass one on the way home from one of my jobs ,shop at Aldi as they are cheap and it suits me being on a low income

If everything goes well, we'll be able to fill our Safefill cylinders at Morrisons- watch this space! Won't be bothered about the points- I'll just be glad I can fill up at any Morrisons LPG point. Reward schemes - you pay for them! Should be called reward scams- they don't give you anything!

Hi Merve went to Morrison's holderness road Hull on Thursday...asked about filling my cylinder ...refused...stated they have never heard of safefill...they knew about the red book though but stated unless head office authorised it they would not let Me fill. Up...tried to explain about it but they didn't seen interested...told them it was their loss and took my business elsewhere...can safefill maybe approach head office of Morrison's and other major supermarkets if they have not done so already.....you convinced me last year to change...instead of paying 24 pounds for gas its now just 6 pounds a refill...more for my pocket...many thanks....David

Hi David- this is already in hand! Morrisons are being asked to fill Safefill and I am waiting for a reply. The problem with these large companies is that no one seems capable of making a decision. It's now in black and white that Safefill Cylinders are accepted as safe , convenient refillable cylinders - what's not to like? I have previously asked all interested parties- please- email Morrisons- tell them that Safefill is now accepted in the red guide and that Sheet 26 has been amended too. There is now no reason for Safefill to be rejected. I am just amazed at the apathy shown from large chains. They need a kick up the A frame! Email them! and anyone else you can. Print off the info which is available and take it to the stations with LOG outlets. Safefill hasn't got the resources to cover the country and do the footwork but we have. I will be doing all the LPG outlets in Leicestershire and Northamptonshire in the next week or two. It's in our interests to bring the pressure to bear on these companies who are stuck in the past!

I have tried to bring the link you need through to here but it's the new Petrol Heads edition ( every fortnight)
Go the Caravan and Motorhome chat and then look for a thread entitled 'A milestone has been reached' there you will find the link you require

Hopefully Easy, you will start to see it again with the acceptance of Safefill Cylinders. It should become a way of life and will be a useful revenue stream for forecourts etc. I agree that the car conversions to gas have almost disappeared- that's the very reason NEIL and John at Safefill started down this road- because their conversion business had no customers!

Link to the all important page - please- everyone who is interested in a better deal for your gas and the leisure industry- print it out and go visit your local LPG supplier!

P45.....sorry can't answer that one...I don't normally write to Morrison's but I would have thought they would at least have said no...they send enough rubbish to my in box as I shop there every week...I thought I would just support Merve as he convinced me to change and I have seen a difference more savings for my family...I agree it's not for everyone...To answer DD the answer to your question if you read the posts the answer is there...if you don't want to read it its your choice..all I was doing was answering previous posts...maybe slightly off topic from the original post but was not made intended to cause offence

To be fair, DD has a point . We have a thread on refillables and a thread on non EHU activities. All refillable posts and non EHU money saving Ideas should be posted there although I have to say, it is a very exciting time at the moment- we are seeing caravan history being made!

As this thread is about Morrisons I thought I would get the discussion back on course and talk about Morrisons!! As some of you may know, I have been busy emailing and communicating with various businesses and organisations that hold the key to the caravanning public being able to fill their Safefills wherever now that the red guide has been rewritten and the UKLPG has promised to rewrite sheet 26 (we're still waiting!!) Yesterday both Shell and Morrisons contacted me to say things were in hand and this was being investigated by their respective teams responsible for their forecourts. I have to say now that, at the present time, it looks very promising. We have had disappointments in the past but now with the acceptance of Safefill by the red guide, I really think that these blanket bans on filling cylinders that we have seen are running out of steam and have nowhere to run. I still await a reply from The Rt hon Greg Clark MP Minister at the Dept of Trade, Energy and Industrial Strategy. Emails from other interested parties would help to put pressure on the dam. It's leaking badly but we need to push harder to breach it completely. I genuinely feel now that it's just a matter of time before all LPG points are open to us. Morrisons have shown more willing than most.

The islands get a government subsidy on fuel.
