Could this be a case of selling the site on and reinvesting the proceeds in a better location?

Correct, the age concession is not currently valid as we are in peak. However, Malvern CC&C is £1.75 per night cheaper than CC for an outfit with 2 adults.

£26.90 per night for 2 in August is not going to tempt the OAPs.

If sites are not popular with the families, then they should be discounted to attract visitors.

I suppose they may think it is already discounted. A site like Clumber, which is very popular with family's is £30.10 for two adults.☹️ Similar mix of grass and Hardstanding, although at Clumber you don't sink if the weather is wet.

No I like that site, it is just a case of getting the price right. Of course no pensioners on a tight budget (most) are going to pay £26 a night when a few weeks later it will be cheaper. Pensioners have time on their side and are not tied to peak seasons prices.

    Time on their side?? laughing

It is not just about cost though. Riverside is £21 a night for two folk on grass. Does not look like my cup of tea though.

£30.10 just for a pitch on a site and you will probably have no mobile phone signal and there is a real risk of theft ?  I think that's a ridiculously high price but I fully expect some of the CC lovers will be along to say its very good value. I'm happy to leave them to it thanks. surprised

I have to agree though that given the low occupancy of certain sites in peak season it does make those sites seem over priced. Whether lowering prices would dramatically increase uptake in such an area is another matter.

If it was seen to be priced at the shoulder season prices, there would be no reason to wait until the end of school holidays or take that break before them.

Other than the fact many retired folk avoid August for reasons other than cost. For me it gives opportunity to catch up with friends, family, pruning, enjoy the garden (when it isn't persisting down) etc. No desire to be away during August

Perhaps HO could just experiment a bit with pricing to see if it makes a diference. Dont seem to have the appetite for doing basic things.

No probably about the phone signal, or the internet.☹️ Although they are supposed to be sorting the internet by the end of the summer, which will at least allow VOIP calls. I do think it is overpriced, although we have paid it, as it is our local site and we use it for a night to get the van ready, and it usually seems to be the last day of peak.
