is this just me, several times I have wanted to book two or three nights away, if a bank holiday is on the Monday a lot of times the sat is full, fri night ok, Sunday night okay but the sat is full. This has happened too many times now to be a one off,Troutbeck being the latest, please do not say ring the site I should not have to,made other arrangements for a commercial site now.I am beginning to think it is a waste of £49.

Perhaps some are staying friday and saturday or saturday and sunday. Perhaps others are staying for a week and finishing on the sunday but others have started their hols on the saturday.  It all goes to show the saturday is the most popular day of the week and will probably be the one that is booked up first.

.I am beginning to think it is a waste of £49.

Why ?  Because the Club's most popular site in the Lake District is partly booked up over a bank holiday weekend, only 3 weeks before......??

    What would you expect...?

Try getting on the C & CC site at Keswick, I find I have to book it a year in advance   (and they have a minimum 5 night booking this coming B/H weekend).

The £49 for club membership is the bargain of the century, I save that with the club discount on the M6 Toll every year....wink

I don't think it's strange at all.  If you think about it, some people will go from Fri-Mon, others will only go Sat-Mon.  There will also be those who will go for a week from Sat-Sat, and there will be those who will have arrived the previous weekend and, because it's a BH, will stay until either the Sun or Mon.  When we've been away at weekends we've also seen some just stay on the Sat for 1 night.

Perfectly logical that the Sat gets booked up first IMHO.

Looking at your avatar, it appears you have a wind out canopy so why not book a non awning pitch. Looks like they're readily available! smile
