Drive away awnings

Hi, I am new to the club and also to the world of owning a campervan (my only experience is hiring one for a trip in New Zealand which I loved).

I have just purchased a small newly converted Toyota Alphard (4.8 m long; height:- 2.1m) and wondering about getting a drive away awning.

Can anyone recommend an awning which is only small and easy to put up? we will not be using it for sleeping in but just to house the portaloo, a couple of chairs and wet coats etc.

    Kampa awnings spring to mind but there are lots of makes and styles. You might like one with a side that can be lifted to make a porch for shade etc.

    Over the years we have and numerous awnings which have cost us quite a lot in that time and we never really got on with any of them for various reasons: But last year be brought one of these Cycle tents and it is surprising how much you can store in it. Oh and  a lot cheaper then a awning, check out Ebay.

    Outdoor revolution Cayman tailgate drive away, it also fits slide door & barn door options. 2yrs ago I paid-£160smile

    Take a tour around the classifieds here, or other caravan and Motorhome web sites.  There are plenty for sale.  Some thing like an Outdoor Revolution Movelite 2.5 m square would do.

    Avoid air awnings, if you have space and weight restrictions. Otherwise, air awnings are quick to errect, and pack up after use.

    Sometimes camping shops have ex demo awnings at reduced prices,
