Just spent a pleasant few days at Abbey Wood.  Noticed on our commute into London that there will be no trains running into London via London Bridge, Waterloo or Charing Cross due to engineering works for 8 days at the end if August.   The route will be via Canon Street only.

Saturday 26th August to Saturday to 2nd September inclusive.

    Thanks for the heads up.

As an alternative, and some would say much nicer, take the bus to Greenwich (bus is nearer at both ends) and get on the Thames Clipper along the river into Central London. Not sure how late they run into the evening if you are going to a show. Abbey Wood is part of the Crossrail Project so access to the centre will be quicker in the future. First stations open next year I think.

Agree with David. Or drive to Greenwich and park up before catching the river bus.
