Hi, can anyone tell me if there are any stopping  places (laybys) on the A21, where I could stop for a while with my car with caravan in tow

Thanks

Not sure which bit of the A21 is of interest but there is a large lay-by on the Sevenoaks Bypass bit just south of Sevenoaks, further south the A21 is a mess at the moment with several of the laybys closed for the ongoing roadworks.

As stated by the previous poster, most laybys are at the northern end of the A21 near Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and on the Pembury bypass.  I can't think of any large/long laybys  further south, especially on the southbound carriageway.  Going north, there's a layby just beyond the roundabout after the Robertsbridge bypass, and another shortly after the traffic lights at Flimwell, but this is often full of parked coaches from the adjacent coach business.  You'd be better off stopping before you get beyond Pembury.

Many thanks for taking the time to help and reply. This the first time we have travelled to this part of the country , our destination is the club site at battle normanhurst.

You're welcome, ted.  We've never stayed at the Battle site as we live locally, but we do store our caravan at a commercial site not far away.  Make sure that you take the second exit towards Battle at the John's Cross roundabout, then the third exit at the next roundabout on the outskirts of Battle.  You definitely don't want to tow your caravan down through Battle High Street. Have a good time.
