    Max,

For exactly the reason you describe we use an Avtex STH3000 which we find very good at getting a picture and simple to use.......sucker it to the side of the van on sites with no TV hook up.......

We have found Avtex customer service to be poor, well ....non existent actually, but others seem to have found differently judging by reviews....

Log periodic aerials are supposed to be the best at picking up a signal, and they are easy to site in the caravan lockers.

We use and Avtex STH2000 when we can't get a satellite picture and have generally found it to be excellent. It is used in conjunction with an Avtex TV so takes the power via the co-ax connector but they do come with a 12v power lead for other brands of TV. We were recently on a site which was noted for poor TV reception and we could still get a reasonable picture but had to change aerial position as we could only get BBC channels or ITV channels depending on where we put the aerial!!!
