no recent reviews on the club sites anymore since they have introduced the survey after your visit to a club site. The survey seems more geared to your thoughts on the wardens rather than giving feedback on the club site.

And whether the weather affected your stay! I don't do club site reviews now, we rarely use club site these days because they're costly! We choose a bit more carefully than we used too. The reason I don't do them now is my own small protest for them losing loads of CL reviews with the new website fiasco. If they don't value our input I won't give my reviews of their sites!

That survey is a long drawn out process - and who benefits?  Whereas reviews should help people who want to go to a site?  I have just tried to deal with my trip to Cheltenham Racecourse - but it seems it's not as easy to do as it once was?

It is torturous to complete the survey but I did want some points raised on facilities so persevered. Not sure I'd do out again if we use club site and get one. Took biggest part if 30 minutes to do the second and I was much more prepared for it, the site is slow too in accepting your response and offering the next section.

I suppose if you have just completed the survey then you might quite naturally think there is no need to do a review in addition despite the fact that they serve two different purposes. Leaving a review is for the benefit of other members. Completing the online survey is for the management to gauge the views of members, not only in terms of customer service but also its an opportunity for members to voice their concerns, if any, and to offer suggestions. Now whilst one lone voice might not make a difference collectively they might. I think the surveys, which I imagine will only be for a limited period of time, is more useful in the longer term.

We returned from a 6 site trip to Scotland in May and had 6 surveys by email on return... I did I think one and a half of them and Deleted User the rest.. Too time consuming by far in my opinion if you have been to a number of sites.

Just completed my survey for a week in Durham, took no longer than 10 minutes, and I appreciate the CMC asking me for my views.

I think the surveys are a good idea and except when we were sent them while abroad, have completed them. However, they do seem to be affecting the number of reviews. I was looking for some during the flower show at Chatsworth and there is nothing between the 30/5 and 18/6. Despite of course the site being full as normal.

Reviews of Club Sites are of far more importance than the surveys. The surveys will probably not be acted upon for ages, if ever. A really effective and believable Club Site review is best carried out somewhere else, say on UKcampsites, where the readership isn't a captive membership.

Like Bakers, I no longer do Club Site/CL reviews on this website after the website update lost dozens of mine.

Although I admit to not reviewing all club sites we stay at, (nowadays not very many) I try and review all the CL'S we stay on, and hope they are useful for other members. I find good reviews useful when I am choosing a CL or club site.

That's a shame you no longer do reviews ttda, it was one of your reviews that prompted us to book Splash Farm CL.

I still do reviews for all CLs  and small private sites we use H&T, but because of the issues on here posting decent sized images, I do them over on Caravanchat. There are dozens of lovely well written informative reviews over on Chat, covering all of UK, Ireland and all over Europe, with lots of photographs. I don't think you have to become a member of Caravanchat (which is free!), to view them, but have to say it is a forum definitely worth looking at for decent site reviews, and not just Club based as well. Some of our best finds have been small private sites, and one or two others have passed on great finds to us as well, such as Nellie and Tigerfish.

    Hope this link works ok

    One for the moderator !!

So come on and tell, whose bright idea was it to drop the review button for sites?.

I'm not sure what you mean. There is still a button (coloured text)  review and rate this site, which is reasonably obvious as soon as you go into the reviews.
