cutlery storage
We need a solution to the problem of inadequate space for cutlery and kitchen tools in our Sprite Major. The cutlery drawer is only large enough to take the normal cutlery and the only wire basket in the cupboard below is fixed, small, and difficult to see into. I would like to fit a pull out rack with a couple of baskets but all the commercial ones I've found are too big. Any one out there have suggestions?

Hi Grumpy,
I know exactly where your coming from, my wife has put a cutlery tray in the first draw of the unit between the seats.
But I to would very much like to fit a sliding basket arrangement in the cupboard next to the fridge.
I`m looking for one that was fitted to another make, but without success.
If any one has a sliding basket arrangement in their van please let us know so we can retrofit it to our van.

We have a small solid type 2 section cutlery drawer in our van (Swift Group), we use it for utensils. Below it is a narrow pull out with 2 wire baskets affixed. These are in a narrow cupboard partly below the sink
Then in the adjacent cupboard we have 2 pull out wire baskets. OH got an adjustable width cutlery tray at Lidl, which fits almost exactly in the top basket, and we have all the cutlery in there.
Possibly these fittings could be available as spares from Swift, but you would need to order via a dealer. I can go and measure the sizes if they are of interest.
Otherwise......have you tried looking at the kitchen fittings available on line? Lots of places selling them and reasonable prices. You can buy drawer kits to make drawers to your required sizes, plus a large selection of sizes of wire baskets, and runners in a good selection of sizes.
