Alko 3004 Pads

I went to clean my pads today in readiness for a trip away and when I removed the hitch lock a piece of the front pad fell out..I have had the 'van for just a year.  It is a Lunar Delta Ti 2016 model, towed by a Discovery Sport with a factory fitted detachable tow bar.  Any ideas/help as to cause would be much appreciated.

    Bad luck!Very occasionaly one can get a faulty pad.
