Glass of wine & keys
if one has drank a glass or two😜 With the motorhome key available" on site, pub stay for the night, or going wild-lay-bys, how would one stand in the laws eyes👀

I assume you're talking about being over the limit for driving? this has been discussed before, and it applies to caravans as well. I'm no expert but I think it's all about trying to drive. If you have the keys in the ignition and sit drinking in the drivers seat you maybe asking for trouble. If you're sitting in the back with the driving keys well away from the ignition then perhaps OK? Caravans have a bit more leeway if their steadies are down and you're not hitched up. Again sitting in the tow car driver's seat drinking is just silly.

Interesting point, I would think as long as you are not in the drivers cab or approaching it with the keys on you then you would be ok on a site, but in a layby...hmmm !

We seem to have multiple thread syndrome again.☹️
Very simple, although I am sure you already know,🤔 both in a pub car park or in a laybye you are in charge of the vehicle whilst under the influence, if a breathalyser gave a positive result. As a result you would be prosecuted, end up with a criminal conviction and loose your license for at least 12 months. Plus possibly be given a substantial fine. On a site you should be OK, however if you drove it to dump waste etc, possibly another matter.

A quick answer from memory is that the drink-driving (and many other) laws apply in any place "to which the public have access". So the local public park, pub and supermarket car park, etc are all included.
Now, some sites have security barriers and it could be argued that as one has to do something special to gain access (such as pay a site fee and be issued with a fob) these places do not have public access. If there is no barrier and anyone can drive into them then these sites would be included as accessable to the public.
Grey area is where barrier is operated by a code, which a member of the public could learn of without payment.
The next test would be whether the person in question was "in a position to drive the motor vehicle". Certainly, being in a motor caravan with the key available would fit that situation. Being in a seperate trailer caravan probably would not.
If you have any doubt, leave the keys with the warden to put in the safe until office opens in the morning.

I'm assuming this is a serious question and not another Topgun windup.
The safest answer is not to drink alcohol. Why chance it?

Indeed. It's something that JennyC possibly hasn't realised yet.
I see there's another unwise post from TG in the duplicate thread.
