List Wanted - sites near town/vilage
Afternoon All.
I have had very good stays at Tewksbury and Morton en Marsh it was so pleasant to be able to stroll in and visit without needing the car.
Now I'm hoping that some one can share a list of sites that are in easy walking distance of a town or village, I canamcle put one together via the sites book but that a lot of work if somebody has already done a list.
Many Thanks aamcle

RoyandBev, I'm not sure about the list you have, but New England Bay (Dumfries & Galloway) is certainly not a short stroll to the nearest village ...... it's about 4 miles to Drummore in one direction, and about 6 miles to Sandhead in the other direction

You really need to define easy walking distance. As there could be wide variations. Two sites we like Brecon and Hawes are to me easy walking. At Hawes it is about half a mile along the pavement, into the lovely dales market town. At Brecon it is just over two miles along the canal tow path, a very nice walk, which we have done many times. However at Hawes we walk to do our shopping ( parking a nightmare anyway ) while at Brecon we use the car.

RoyandBev, you are well out with some of the sites you've listed. I for one wouldn't like to walk to York from Beechwood Grange, or into Chester from Fairoaks, or North Ledaig into Oban.

If staying at Chester Fairoaks it can be a pleasant walk into Chester from Upton Zoo. Park in P&R, buy tivket and then walk through the zoo car park and turn left onto a track down to canal. Turn left along canal and walk into chester. P&R back.

Ours is up to a mile to 2 miles or about same distance to a bus stop, in fact the person that posted the list in the first place might have said that i cant remember i copied from the old forum and cant find it.
As ABM has been said look up any you fancy and look for a town or bus stop as i said i haven't tried them all but look forward to trying over the next 20 years LOL
