by the way, what happened to those red buckets that people had outside their vans years ago. I remember letters in the club magazine where the topic of complaint was that people didn't have them, and ( I remember it well) complaints when the bucket wasn't red, or even didn't have the letters F I R E on it. Ahh happy days!

Some great replays & thank you for all your input, nice to see you have all read & understand the c/motorhome rule book & the Saffty behind this. So please in future don't come to me & moan about this problem it's not a problem it's for your Saffty. If a warden asks one to move, be polite & do so, he will help" I've seen it ten times before, don't moan to ones fellow travelers"  you have pitch wrong. I only had a motorhome four weeks & this seems to be the topic of conversation, so I thought a little fun with it may resolve it. 🙂 Happy days.

Hopefully this is your first and last post Topgun. A bit of fun is one thing but as a first post? If you ever do want any real help from this forum, how is anyone supposed to know if your serious.

A Saffty is when ones computer is more clever than one's brain, the brain would have engaged the spellchecker or at the very least done a read back on the post!

Unless it was a deliberate bit of fun of course!wink

    Hi everyone,

As previously mentioned in one of the replies in the discussion, Rowena posted the below in a similar discussion:

The reason for the 3 metres between awnings or car to awning is that the awning is constructed of different materials than a caravan or motorhome. We follow the guidance from the British Research Establishment on this and we work closely with Surrey Fire and Rescue to manage fire safety on our sites and implement their recommendations where necessary.

We have rules on site because we need to keep all of our members safe and comfortable. Our aim is to enable our members an enjoyable experience on site and to encourage our members to be respectful of each other. The ‘rules’ are applied consistently across the network so that we can be effective in how we manage and run our network, and that members who regularly use sites know what to expect.

I hope this helps address any concerns and thank you for your feedback.

Thanks for all of your contributions to the thread. However it appears the discussion has gone off topic and there have been some reports of this. As a result, I will be closing the thread.

Can I remind everyone of the Community Guidelines please and to bear these in mind before posting.

    Thank you,

    Hannah
