Can anyone recommend a Site in Essex.  This is an area we have never been to and would like to visit. No club site and not sure where is best not knowing the area.  No children just 2 adults and no dog with a caravan.

Many Thanks

Do you use CLs? We've used a couple that we can recommend:-

Burnham Wick Farm, Burnham-on-Crouch, No.573 in Site Directory

    Court Farm, Brantham, Manningtree, No.602

There's also Flatford Farmhouse, East Burgholt, No.604 & Little Baddow Hall Fruit Farm, Chelmsford, No.578 that have been recommended by CT members.

We have used Brookcroft, which is near Harwich, very nice site and lovely owners.

Toilet and shower, good water and waste and toilet disposal.  Good access even for large vans.

We stayed recently at Mill House CV Park CM3 4BG, situated just outside Chelmsford towards Maldon. £15 per night for what is best described as a 20 van CL. Pleasant walk nearby along a canal.

It's a very diverse county. How long are you planning on visiting? What do you like doing? Plenty of coast, towns, open gardens RHS Hyde Hall and Beth Chatton as examples, Audley End House and Gardens Hatfield Forest, Epping Forest I could go on - but all spread apart!

Another definite vote for Burnham Wick Farm, our local bolt hole and one we'd rather too many didn't know about 😉. Loads of nature immediately around you, walk along the river with 3 yacht clubs into the small town, make it circular by walking but along the road. Museum etc.

Mill House looks nice but forgot to say looking at October and they seem to close end of September foot-in-mouth

Whoops forgot to mention Constable country 😉.

Weather should be good in October but not sure about CL's being open. Being local we don't often take our motorhome to places we've done on days out.

Not used CL site search lately can you ask by month? Oh silly me!

If you want to see where the painter John Constable lived and worked this is the best place to stay as it has a lovely walk down through the fields to Flatford Mill following in Constable's footsteps. The NT look after the area, it's very beautiful and the nearby village of East Bergholt is very nice.

The CL has already been mentioned, it's Flatford Farmhouse see here

A couple of pics from our trip to the CL, the walk and one of the views seen in Constable's paintingss.
