I am trying to get Garmin express to run on my laptop. It seems to be looking for an "elevated installer" called "ElevatedInstallerInstaller.msi" which it can't find - nor can I.

Any ideas please>

Garmin have a very good on-line chat system for technical support.

Is that good old Win 10 ? In which case it is probably the software needs to be installed with administrator rights.

I don't know about the Garmin download, but hazard a guess that it downloads a compacted file (maybe zipped) .  If you can locate the installation file, left click it, (maybe right click ?)  there should drop down a menu of several items.

near the top should be ""Run as Administrator" , click on that and the files should self extract with admin rights to all the extracted files.

Might solve your problems . Might not of course ;-)

Yes it is Win 10. I tried to run as administrator but came up with a different error message - four digits but can't remember which ones but it said maybe a corrupted file. Download a new one but still no joy.

    AN UPDATE

The problem is now solved and Garmin Express is running OK on my lap top. I sent an email to Garmin Customer Services and had a detailed reply with the solution to the problem. It involved download a program from Microsoft (so others must have had similar problems) and I had to run the program several times to delete a list of files from my computer, then I downloaded from the Garmin site as instructed and all is well.

So thanks to the two correspondents above and thanks to Jakub at Garmin.

Off to plan my next trip now I know my satnav is up to date.
