swan neck towbar

a car I am thinking of purchasing has a swan neck towball, will this fit my alko stabiliser hitch or are there different ones as with standard balls thanks = bob

    All towballs are now 50mm, so yes it should be okay for the Alko. Just make sure there is no paint on the ball.

    We have one and it is no problem. Do make sure it has the correct clearance though assuming you have an ALKO hitch.

    Isn't just the case that some of the bolt on ball hitches didn't have a long enough neck for the Alko coupling. That's not an issue with a swan neck.

    Our new Elddis has a Winterhoff coupling, much easier to use I thinksmile

    Standard vs Alko 2 bolt flange towballs are different in that there is longer neck on an Alko to allow full articulation of an Alko hitch. The ball size on both is the same.

    As Wildwood suggests, some go faster versions of some cars with go faster deeper/fancy bumpers limit the room from ball to bumper. Usually only a problem when fitting the bar in the first place, not when buying a car with a bar already fitted.
