Hi, currently use my partner's diesel Sportage to tow our Lunar Quasar EB 1350kg MTPLM.  I have diesel car but no tow bar, been thinking off getting petrol.  Seen this car, pulling weight is fine, just the torque is a tad low 162 lbs ft.  Would I struggle?

    Struggle !

It might have kerb weight on it's side, but suspect it's towing capacity will be mediocre if not non-existent. It's weak engine is mated to an ancient CVT gearbox. How on earth do they manage to get just 167hp/162 lbs/ft from a 2.4 litre.

    Stick with the Sportage

I agree with Runrig.  Always go for the maximum Torque you can get. Be assured that when things go wrong, and they do go wrong occasionally, you will appreciate the difference. I tow with about 300 lbs/ft of Torque.  I also recommend a Torque Converter Gearbox rather than a CVT type.
