The knowledge of people on here is a wonderful source of money saving tips.  My recent problem with the Cassette/Handle was fixed with the help of people on here.  I would have had to drive the caravan 30 miles or so to try and catch the mobile mechanic in his workshop (normally Sunday) or waited months for him to come to me!  I suspect a caravan dealer would have told me I needed to replace the whole unit!  I know the cassette bit is over £100 so I dread to think what  a whole new loo would cost!  Of course the simplest way for that particular problem was not cause it in the first place - not a mistake I will make again!

Thank you CT!

So  very  glad  that  members  of  the  C&MC  have  helped  you

    a)  fix  your  problem   and  b)  helped  you  save  your  money  into  the  bargain   laughing

Strange  ain't  it  that  so  many  threads  on  here  are  complaining  about  how  costly  Membership  is,  both  in  annual  fees  and  in  site  charges,  yet  the  Helping Hands  save  us  money  time  and  again !

It's good to give credit as well as have a grumble - not hard to balance the two really.  innocent  I always think stuff like the national news should balance out the bad stories with the good ones but it doesn't seem to work that way!

CT is great for this sort of thing isn't it?

Glad you've fixed it Pippah and at no expense save Internet, typing and time 😉.

I'd been following the thread so know the suggested fixes. Well for now! It might not be the case should I need them but maybe the search facility will be better by then 😆. Out of interest how did you cause the issue? That'll be the real bit to remember.

Oh yes so have I however this one was probably the most technically and physically challenging!  I am no longer flexible enough to climb in the cassette locker and working with a mirror didn't do it for me!

Well actually it got a great steam clean before the work started today!  The designer of those lockers should be given the task of cleaning 50 of them!  laughing

I agree Pippah- a wealth of experience and knowledge at our fingertips. I will be fitting the wiring for my latest labour saving gadget today gleaned from the experience of others- an automatic grey water disposal unit! Box, Automatic bilge pump and a long piece of flexible hose so that the grey water magically disappears into into the bottom of a hedge which is where I am usually asked to dump the grey water- Wastemaster will hopefully be redundant

Why not just run a long hose from van outlet?
